Re: World Cup 2018

Agree on the idea that 48 teams will only make it worse, but I’ve actually enjoyed most of the games I’ve watched even if there’s been more 1-0’s or tight games as a result. I guess we all look for different things in football - the only games I've truly enjoyed so far is the Spain vs Portugal game...

Re: World Cup 2018

Just read an article in an Austrian newspaper (in German - so don't complain if you can't read it) that says that this has been one of the most defensive world cups so far with team reverting to 4-6-0 or even 6-4-0 formations .... explains why most of the games (with few exceptions) have been so bor...

Re: Ingerlund Vs Tunisia

Just finished watching it delayed. It was OK. Lots of good performances and I think Germany would die for a Harry Kane. I hope we realise we are allowed to tackle for the next few games because we didn't win a 50:50 all game. VAR proved useless, but we survived. With a fit Dele Alli and Rashford on...

We can only sign him though if he decides Togo to live in England.

Re: Ingerlund Vs Tunisia

It's funny how a goal right at the end totally changes how people are talking about the game (on bbc) - if it had ended 1:1 it would have been 'a lacklustre display' ... and suddenly it's a 'really professional job ... they kept going ... didn't lose their nerve' - like heck.

I'm actually making the terrible mistake of looking forward to the game tonight ... bet it will be another borefest.

Re: Season 2018/2019

Predicting the championship is a bit like predicting the Grand National ... on paper, some teams look really good and turn out to be rubbish. Every season you look at the league and think: "Wow, a lot of good teams in there .... it's going to be tough' and there's always a few that over-perform...

Re: World Cup 2018

So OK Ronaldo scored a great free-kick yesterday, a penalty and a goal from a goal keeping howler - other than that I didn't think he played that well. But from the way, the BBC are reporting on it, it's as if he had a 10/10 game ... or is it just me?

Good poll in fact as it shows that it's the small minority who complains the most.

Totally under-whelmed by this signing too but am just hoping he'll surprise us. Doubt it. But who knows. I think when we signed Leigertwood a lot of people were writing him off before he'd kicked a ball ...
