Re: Reading FC Womens World

I agree it's a harsh punishment. Apparently he went for rock, paper scissors because the game was being broadcast live and he didn't have time to get a replacement coin because it would fcuk up broadcasting schedules. If true, that in itself tells you everything that's wrong with football IMO. Like...

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

I vote to stick with Clement, We are improving particularly with regards to scoring goals and he can see where the issues are and will likely have his eye on some new central defenders when the transfer window opens. The football recently has been quite exciting and I always feel we can get a goal....

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Referee David McNamara has been suspended for three weeks following Readings 1-1 draw with Man City. Having forgotten his coin for the toss-up* he had the team captains play rock, paper, scissors  Personally, I congratulate him for his improvisation. On the one hand, great improvisation, on th...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Perhaps that is why there are four teams below us! Our league position is largely down to our dire (and slightly unlucky) start with just two points from six games. since then we have W4 D2 L5 = 14 points from 11 which translates to a 46 game haul of 58.5 or mid-table. The opening game v Derby was ...

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

Ascot, you think a new manager will do better in a January window than Clement? A new manager will come in clueless about this team and will spend the next 6 months finding out about them all. Clement has already been through that process of learning about this bunch of players and knows better tha...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Ipswich Town (h) sponsored by Orlando Sa

Are we improving or just picking up points against weaker sides? Let’s see how much we have improved after the next six! If I heard him correctly, Clement reckons we've got an equal opportunity to pick up points in those. Factually correct in that there are still points for a win but based on the p...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Yes agree with his honesty but that can only take you so far. To keep saying that your team that you are responsible for, are continiously playing awful can eventually lead to only one outcome. Its true we don't have a great team but on player per player basis we are not one of the worst three. Yes...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Think the big issue yesterday was the lack of midfield structure. In the last game, it was very clearly defined in an Italian style, with Kelly as the playmaker and Bacuna and Rinomhota ahead of him doing the screening and legwork. Yesterday that broke down, which left us more vulnerable and less a...

As Clement likes to take stock after each group of games - he did so again today and said we'd improved - maybe this poll should be reset in parallel.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Ipswich Town (h) sponsored by Orlando Sa

Desperately hoping Clement gets his P45 if we lose this. This is disgusting against a sh+t Ipswich team. Neither of their goals anything to do with Clement - really poor give a dog a bad naming . Apart from the fact that he is the manager/coach who is meant to be improving performances and stopping...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Credit to Clement for coming out and saying how bad it was in the first half (and he wasn’t overly impressed with the second either) He would have looked even more of an incompetent clown had he not! He said he would've made six substitutions if he could've done. So how many did he make and when? D...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

oxf*rd disgraceful showing first half. No character, no desire, no shape, no coordination. Ipswich were bigger, stronger, quicker, more direct, more confident. Best team I've seen this season based on first half (faint praise indeed). Jaakkola - 5 kicking terrible Yiadom - 3 awful display. Moore 4 ...

Re: Gourlay

We should not be accepting a decline in the club such as we are currently witnessing. Nor should we fall for the suggestions that the town of Reading can't support the establishment of one of the top clubs in the country. A news article on the BBC today reveals that between 1911 and 2016, employment...

Is he still here? Looks like I'll be taking Saturday off then and my Royals Football this weekend will be the Reading FC Women game, coincidentally also, against Bristol City on Sunday. Best part of being a season ticket holder this season is free admission to the women's games. High quality player...

Bruce won't play our Academy graduates. Does Clement? About the only grad who starts is Kelly sometimes (and many don't think he should, and say he's not good enough). Don't beat Bruce with that stick, Shirley? Too much of a gulf from the "graduates" to Championship football. Gradu...

Re: Bust up between Clement and Barrow

We're told it's a disciplinary issue but that could cover a multitude of sins, some of which might not be that serious. Could Clement/the Club be overreacting? Has Barrow fallen foul of what, given the dire situation the team is in, might be regarded as a rather petty rule? One thing's certain, it's...

What would you suggest? Relegation is inevitable? Stick with Clement until the picture becomes clearer. Long way to go in the season yet. Attracting the right players isn't going to be easy. Developing players such as Meite is going to take time. We'll see them evolve warts and all. There's a reall...

Re: Bust up between Clement and Barrow

If this is all about a personality clash I think it's Clements job to get over it. We don't have many options in his position and I think we all agree that the current formation is worth pursuing, particularly with McCleary back. Can't agree - the manager is the boss. If players won't/don't toe the...
