Re: Pre season tour

tmesis
paultheroyal Club will think they have softened the blow somewhat with at long last a decent home friendly lined up. Should be the biggest crowd we will have all season lol.

Probably Bournemouth, Brighton or Watford.

Think blue, top 4 and you have your answer.

Re: New Training Ground

I wonder if they plan to make the pitches available for community use at all ? yeah was wondering that as well. Presumably the Dome at the Madejski will go eventually. ITs starting to look a bit tattered and isn't being especially well maintained - at least last time I was there. If Category 1 club...

FWIW the steward wouldn't let me store my suitcase anywhere, so I ended up hiding it in a hedge behind the carpark. Enjoyed myself in the South Stand on Sunday, was significantly louder further up the stand where I went in the second half. https://media2.giphy.com/media/yvEwUWxX2rra/giphy.gif

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Hopefully get as many new players in as early as possible and dead wood shifted so they can hit the 10 game pre season campaign full on. Some decent looking friendlies lined up with tour and at long last a decent Prem team to play week before the season starts will make them well placed come August.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I am a fan of this scheme and all that and knew what was being proposed but they do run the risk of watering this down to what it should all be about. Fans wanting to create an atmosphere and sing. Those on a budget might fancy it instead and just sit there. Would those on a budget not have already...

Re: BFT(final)G

If a player doesn't deliver, they're dropped. If a manager doesn't deliver, they're sacked. If a referee doesn't deliver, then what? Nothing. The people that say "referees have it so difficult" are wrong, refs make mistakes time and time again and are very rarely punished for it, yet when...

Re: BFT(final)G

Finally the Ref. Is this our worst season for Officials ? I have missed two home games this season; yet apart from Friend (who is a Prem Ref) and a couple who were at best average-this season we have had a succession of absolute plonkers. Where do the League get them from ? Something is wrong here ...

Re: BFT(final)G

Me and my boys joined the autograph hunters queue after the match and I'm not sure what can be read into who came down the line but only four of the loan players appeared - Oliveira, Miazga, Ezatolahi and Martinez. No sign of Ejaria, and Baker snuck out of the other door but did sign a handful of a...

Re: BFT(final)G

Stayed behind so my lad could get photos with the players. God they must really hate that. Anyway, everyone was waiting for Martinez but no show. So we left to go home. Walked through hotel car park and there was Martinez sat in his very large fancy pick up. Wind down the window for a pic with my la...

Re: Luke Southwood

With Martinez future in the balance and Southwood's glowing references from helping Eastleigh into the National League playoffs, when would be the right time to give him the no. 1 shirt? I saw that the Bristol City keeper spent half a season at Solihull Moors last year before establishing himself a...

Re: The Non - League thread

Might have been noted already, but Basingstoke went down having score 81 league goals, the seventh highest in the division. Unfortunately they conceded 82, which is more than anyone but hapless Staines. Outrageous that this team got themselves relegated. Poorly run, now no ground and only one step ...

One87One Yakou Meite will be in the South Stand for the Brum game.

“We’ve got Meite...”

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

This is not a dig at anyone at all but debate has gone from.... Cringe, poor numbers, diluting atmosphere, this will never work, pack it in, embarrassing, to now saying it’s so good the players only acknowledge the south stand  Based on that outcome I think we can say it’s been a massive success.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

How could it ever hope to compliment the rest of the ground? The south stand are singing their inoffensive dittys towards the pitch, away from y26 (the only real organic area for noise), flanked by away fans on their right and the most soulless part of the ground on their left. It hasn't got a hope...

Re: BFTG - Baggies

Just fantastic today. Gomes has done quite a magnificent job, . Martinez was outstanding today and that save he made out for the corner is one of the best you will ever likely to see. Shot was unexpected, went like a rocket and right in corner. He was full stretch and finger tipped it around the pos...
