Re: Relegation Watch

I was in the school year as the Cardiff keeper so it would be cool for him to get into the Premier League, but oxf*rd Warnock. The half pinoy lad? That’s pretty cool. I remember him at Walsall and wasn’t overly enthralled but certainly thought he’d have enough to make the jump to the championship. ...

Re: Relegation Watch

I went to uni in Cardiff and have a huge soft spot for the city. I am pretty indifferent to the football club though, however despite Warnock, I'd rather see them go up at the expense of Fulham for several reasons.

Re: Building for next season

Ftr I’d take Long back in a heart beat, will clearly score more at this level but he offers a lot more than just that, will stretch the defence and gives us pace up front, more so than Bod.

Agree wholeheartedly on HRK, terrible footballer.

Re: Sheffield Wednesday v Reading - Official Predictions Thread

How is this decided? If it just the prediction furthest from the actual result? Well if Wednesday win, then the biggest Reading-win-prediciton would be the worst prediction and vice-versa if it's a draw, then it's the biggest win posted (could be 3-0 to Wednesday AND 3-0 to Reading (for example) GD...

Re: Building for next season

Thing with Wieser is that, granted he's a Leichtensteiner so hardly from a country with any footballing pedigree and he was a completely bizarre signing but he has played for Basel and Hoffenheim and has made a reasonable number of appearances in the Swiss top flight. He can't be completely useless...

Re: Building for next season

I think a lot of our injury woes have to be pinned firmly on Stam and his backroom staff, we were hardly injury free last season either. the last 2 seasons, during Stam's tenure has to be one of, if not the worst spells we've had with injuries. Whether it's poor conditioning or poor training I don'...

Sutekh, thanks for that. Its a pity we couldn't beat Sunderland at home, because this next one, at Wed, could be a tough game, I think. As stated, Wed have won 4 of 6. Their last 6 games read: Won at Hull last week Lost at QPR Lost 1-0 to Fulham Won 3-1 at Sunderland They beat Preston 4-1 Won at Le...

Re: Relegation Watch

We're also notoriously shit at Hillsborough in recent times, though last year's game was arguably my favorite moment of the season. We took a non stop battering at the end before breaking down the other end and Popa ran it into an open net, absolute scenes.

Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

Have you noticed how there's been almost no piss-taking from opposition fans over this? Usually if we do something utterly tinpot, the opposition fans are all over it like a fly on shit. Haven't seen anything. Seems like it's only Reading fans who find this embarrassing. Yeah you're right. I would ...

Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

The ‘passionate support’ was there when we were winning....of course We are not unique...success = bigger voiciforous fan bases Like it needed saying  Was it? We were winning pretty much every week at home last season and the atmosphere was shocking. There's a huge reluctance to get involved ...

The dream for me is Colin getting the automatic spot, then Villa and Fulham both losing the playoffs to Millwall Imagine the salt. Would make this season 100% worth it Wouldn’t be upset to see Derby or Boro go up, despite both being pretty awful this year. Not quite sure how Derby are in the mix tb...

Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

Honestly the atmosphere would be better served if there were various groups spread out throughout the ground, as it is all this might achieve in the short to medium term future is a relocation of the vocal lot in y26/25. Don't get me wrong, I am fully behind it, I may even join for the Ipswich game ...

Straight red too. That's a central defender that's out for the 3 remaining games.

Maybe, but that doesn't explain why he wasn't played on Saturday. Perhaps because he isn't very good? Not that that's an argument anyway after watching Edwards play. George Evans anyone? It's the same with most of our midfielders. They always seem best when they aren't in the team.  :lol...
