Re: New Kits 2019/20

Just a bit strange to me - the treble winning side, fine (and Liverpool's new kit an homage to their successful 70s team), but the 90 +1' and 90 + 3', refers to one game that if played 100 more times would finish differently 99 of them. Don't know about classless, just weird. Whilst rubbing in the f...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

Standard fare from United - apparently the final design has '90 + 1' and '90 + 3' on the sleeves, and references the treble winners of 1999. Seriously is that actually a thing or is just troll fare? Just utterly classless in every way if it’s true. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Timo Werner will apparently choose between Bayern and Liverpool this summer. Sillier rumours that Liverpool could get Coutinho back for half of what they sold him for, if they want him.

Re: The Playoffs 2018/19 edition

Shan has to walk after that. Just one of the worst bits of managing I’ve ever seen. You don’t play six defenders and two holding midfielders with 10 men and then play for penalties. It’s just beyond naive Well we know Moore should never have gone but that was incredible. Mason Holgate as first take...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Poor old sandman, he must have had a terrible time this season It's not luck when otherwise decent keepers drop clangers, it's a result of being put under massive amounts of pressure. Was it Jack Nicklaus that said "the more I practice the luckier I get"? Pickford in particular was never ...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Paul Pogba looks set to be a huge 'what might have been' at United. And he's had two bites at it. Clearly a hugely talented player, probably top-10 in the world on his day and might win a Ballon D'Or in the future, but only if he gets his head in the right place.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Heaton, Speroni, Rico, Pickford and Lloris each making vital mistakes to hand Liverpool points. Not forgetting Salah being offside to help Liverpool get a draw at the London Stadium in a game they were outplayed in and Mahrez missing a last minute penalty at Anfield. There is no doubt Liverpool are...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Loving the re-write across a few social media platforms today that Liverpool only pushed City because they were 'lucky' - most of them omit to leave out things like Sadio Mane's wrongly disallowed goal, of course. Football fans are fcuking dicks, really. Two excellent teams matched each other almost...

Re: Champions League & Europa League 2018/19

From Jurgen Klopp: "Madrid is unbelievably expensive but who decides Baku for a European final? Or Kiev? I don't know what the people who decide these things have for breakfast." And also I sleep as much as I need to. I can sleep pretty well. The only problem is, all the other guys in my a...

Re: Champions League & Europa League 2018/19

Interesting* stat on the Champions League. If Spurs win their first Champions League, it will come 58 years after their last domestic league title. If Liverpool win their sixth, and City get the job done at Brighton, it will come 29 years after their last domestic league title. Both will be records,...

Re: Champions League & Europa League 2018/19

It was always going to be a problem getting there whichever team made it, so why did UEFA decide to hold it there? Obvious answer is that Baku paid handsomely for the privilege, so UEFA should use that cash to help people get there. Doubtless they will but only for the 50k+ tickets not given to fan...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

No longer a footballer, and not arrested, but Beckham has been banned from driving for 6 months- using his mobile when driving again. A great role model to young people.......allegedly. He has been a terrific role model - certainly to young footballers. That doesn't mean he doesn't make mistakes.

Re: Champions League & Europa League 2018/19

Easy to forget that Spurs got just a point from their first three group games, and needed an 85th minute equaliser at Barcelona to reach the knockout stages (scored by Lucas Moura, of course). They'd have gone out without Harry Kane's 89th minute winner against PSV too, in their fourth group game.

Stat pulled out by the Guardian that illustrates how Barcelona struggled to defend their lead - or lacked the tactical nous to. The front three of Messi, Suarez and Coutinho record just two interceptions between them, and not a single tackle.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Even better than the fact that Liverpool's brilliant full-backs cost a combined £8m (Robertson's fee from Hull) is that in the same window that Robertson was signed, Kevin Stewart went from Liverpool to Hull for £4m, rising to £8m if they get promoted during his time at the club.
