Re: Hogwood Countdown

I don’t think RFC ever owned Hogwood. I think SJM bought it and leased it to the club. Believe he sold it but not sure which owner he passed it on to.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I think teddy Howe has come on hugely this season. Was never over impressed by him before but seems to get better each game. He’s a very modern full back in that he does most of his good work going forward, he’s a competent defender but not amazing. He works well with our clutch of truely exciting c...

Surely that’s dangerous play, which is an indirect free kick, not a penalty.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

So 2 for both House and Loader Would be happy to see either or both getting game time in the first 11 with Bod and maybe Meite out Loader wouldn’t be a replacement for Bod/Meite, he’s a completely different type of player. In our current side he’d do the job Baldock does (or maybe Swift when he’s p...

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

Overall a most enjoyable game. We look decent going forward and dodgy defensively. Blackett is worth the admission on his own. Just superb to see him showboating on the edge of his own area, love it. Good to to see people throwing the usual fake stats into the equation. It doesn’t matter how many sp...

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

5 mins seemed spot on.
Long break around the Bacuna scuffle, Barrow ‘injury’, 5 substitutions, a goal, us wasting time

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brentford (a) sponsored by one pub on each corner

Really surprised at some of the comments here. Once again, we show we are mentally weak. Goals immediately after have time, this season and stoppage time points lost etc, got to be a coaching management issue. Really pi$$ed off Or is it down to individuals not taking responsibility ? Surely it can’...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Agreed with that. Everyone looked good today, Teddy Howe had a very good game despite one heart-in-mouth moment. Would like to see Osho, Holmes and McIntyre all play - maybe one could go into midfield to add some steel. Three at the back maybe, although I think Osho and McIntyre are good enough foo...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Saints erected disappintingly poor and we should have won by more. No surprise Barratt being on the bench given the first teamers getting decent work outs. Holmes being fit meant Osho on the bench, showing how strong we are in that position. Tyler Frost had a good game as did Loader and generally th...

Absolutley no need to bring in any more centrebacks. Loads of good ones queueing up at the club

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

I get a couple of emails a week at least with info about forthcoming games. I think the unanswered question is whether any perceived decline is directly linked to Gourlay being appointed or whether he came in at a point where there were already issues (if these issues are more than anecdotal). Suppo...

Re: Club developed players

I know just the guy too. He's 6ft6, left footed, has scored a decent amount of goals despite being young. Jake Coop.. oh.. Luckily I think most of the young centrebacks we have coming through will turn out to be better than Cooper. Not as tall maybe but without the tendency to throw in a big error ...

Re: Club developed players

I don’t think this would be a problem for us at all. We could name any one of 4 home grown centre backs on the bench without a problem. We’ve got several keepers who would be ok as reserve keeper. Loader currently and Novacovic next season qualify as would Smith. Obita and Richards when fit plus Wa...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I fear you're right. Although there's a not tiny chance we could get relegated and lose one or both of Baldock and Bod. Nova might also prove too good for us at that point. You wouldn’t think. First team squad with 5 strikers would look overloaded though. Surely Bod, Baldock, McNulty, Novacovic and...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Wasn’t booing as such but there were definitely a few grumjbles Tbh after that performance on Wednesday I don’t think a little reminder of how the fans perceived it is that a bad a thing really. I’m sure he did realise being dropped was deserved but maybe a little confirmation of that won’t hurt Bo...

Cracking start for him at the higher level. Yep but I really do get the feeling we will never see him in a Reading shirt again. I fear you're right. Although there's a not tiny chance we could get relegated and lose one or both of Baldock and Bod. Nova might also prove too good for us at that point...

And of course different attitudes / interpretation of FFP have come and gone and our income has fluctuated wildly with the impact of promotion and relegation.

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Even In the Madejski period people on here we’re forever critical of a lot of off field stuff. I would imagine Anton hardly ran a tight ship (commissioned new carpeting for corporate areas with club logo woven into it etc). I suspect simply the series of regime changes have left stuff confused and l...
