Re: Nations League & Friendlies

Not sure about this golden generation stuff. The Euros 2016 were superb but the failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup Finals was a blow. Only taking one point off Ireland in the two qualifiers was simply not good enough. We should have topped the group in all honesty. All those draws and failur...

Re: On this day

On this day in 1997 we drew 3-3 at home with Crewe. Carl Asaba on the scoresheet twice and an OG in our favour. Carl Asaba is very underrated. I know he was inconsistent but I rate him. Get ready for the nostalgia: https://youtu.be/z4cYICI66a0?t=1009 love the way they go, "yeah, and it ended 3...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (h) sponsored by Terry Hurlock

Saeid Ezatolahi picked up an injury on international duty, no details how bad, we`re fcuking jinxed  https://twitter.com/TalkReading/status/1052225924035502080 We may aswell relegate ourselves now. Iran beat Bolivia 2-1 but Eza missed the game completely, not even on the bench, so the doubt ...

Great work from Southgate and the team. An amazing result to win in Spain A word on Pickford though. 2 of our goals came from his well placed kicks but ... What was the dive before any shot came in? Somehow he ended up saving the shot that followed! And the needless corner? And the dithering that l...

Loughborough just about nick it from Derby. Their goalscoring rate was 0.529 goals per game compared to Derby's 0.526.

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

I like it. Two qualifying tournaments for the same set of finals being held at the same time. Only the football authorities could come up with something so mental to make qualification for a tournament finals so over-complicated and confusing (talking the Euros 202 qualification set up and process a...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

[b]The complicated bit is that the Nations League doubles up as a repecharge tournament for teams who don't qualify for the Euros (replacing current play-off) - 1 spot is available to each league, so means a smaller nation will qualify for Euro 2020. If the league finished today, one of Georgia, Ma...

Impressive record. Their last football league win was 31 December 2011 at home to Port Vale (and that was their first win in eight). LLLLLLLLDDDDDLLDLLLDLLLLLLDDLLLLDDLL is their complete record since. 36 games, 11 draws and 25 defeats. Scored 27, conceded 66. Just 2 clean sheets, and have failed t...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

By the way, not heard the Bill Oddie chant for about 18 months - perhaps there's a connection between singing that regularly and getting results in the pitch. Club 1871 should give it a go, a whole 90 minutes to make up for it's absence.

We know so little yet complain so much! It’s been said that the Meite deal is very dependent on performances; a 4 year deal could be dependent on 20 appearances per season, 10 goals, adherence to a pitch positioning strategy... who knows! Let’s just remember that everyone who slated Novakovich for ...

Simeone aswell. Warnock. Many more. I think most manager are nuts. How did I forget Simeone? He's probably the most nuts of all! I'd argue Alex Ferguson was on the edge of nuts too. Bob Paisley was not nuts and look what Liverpool achieved under him so I'm presuming having to be "nuts" to...

Impressive record. Their last football league win was 31 December 2011 at home to Port Vale (and that was their firs...
