Re: Hogwood Countdown

Is it RFC that own Hogwood, and has it been sold yet? I know the Thai’s were interested in building on it, and the Chinese like building hotels...

Re: New Training Ground

I’m still waiting to hear what changes the Chinese made to the plans. Teflon Don said they wanted to put their stamp on it but we are still none the wiser in how they’ve done that. I expect it’s just an excuse to explain the continued delay. It’s also disappointing just how under the thumb the local...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

No problem with Macron. We will almost certainly see their name on the seats as well which would see the removal of ‘Madejski Stadium’. This may also tie in to stadium sponsorship as I know talks with several potential suitors have taken place over the last 6 months.

Re: Rumour: Francesco Guidolin

This would be an absolute dire appointment. He lasts approx. 1.2 years at each club, and we really don’t need a negative styled tactician coming in. Just hope this is nonsense. Give me Bruce or Joka.

Re: Loader to Bundesliga

Loader hasn’t been happy for a while now. If he doesn’t get a chance soon then we may well lose him on the cheap; and if so it makes a mockery of our academy when we have such a talent and we don’t utilise him but instead continue with a misfiring League 2 striker (who may or may not be able to step...

5-1 away win at the weekend and 4-0 home win last night. 250+ attendance. Decent.

Good to know this club is in safe hands isn't it... and where are the local press to report on this?

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Out of interest - are they standing throughout the game? This is going to be a problem at some point, especially if the stewards are stricter in the East Stand or away end when it comes to standing. Club 1871 should be careful they aren't seen to be getting special treatment. The South, like Y26, s...

Nothing at all suss to be honest with you. Have you looked into the new ownership? It's nothing ground breaking, but will hopefully take the club forward and ultimately be good for the Town (City...)

So where's it from then?

Not for me to say. Heard it from a reliable Hellenic League source though.

Odd behaviour.

I hope he scores 20 but Oxford concede 90.

Re: Rival Watch

They're not a rival (yet), but Reading City did well in their first game at the weekend, winning 5-1 I think it was, away.

They play at home tonight down Scours Lane. Under 16's free entry. It'd be good to see some Reading fans lend them some support instead of the other local clubs like Maidenhead.

Forget Maddison. Their owner confirmed we were interested but baulked at the players wage demands. We're out and haven't been back in since.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I was in hospitality for Derby and I have to say I was very impressed with the South Stand. I think I saw they'd sold just over 300 tickets before the game. It looked 400 or so in there for the game. Good noise throughout the game and at times worked with Y25/Y26. This can only be a good thing for t...

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for us to pay it, but I think £700k would be about the upper end of his value considering his remaining contract length as well.

£1m is loose change today.

There's no question it would be an upgrade for us. Unless Mannone does go back to Italy as was rumoured a month ago, then I can't see us making a change in that department.

Apologies if touched on already, but Mr Gourlay recently saw off the marketing chap who was helping with the South Stand home fans thing, and he's since brought in his own man. Worse still, Gourlay's idea of improving the atmosphere is........... A MARCHING BAND! As I understand it this was dismisse...
