Re: New Manager

Given the club's precarious position it's staggering to the point of being unbelievable that PC was given the boot without their being an immediate replacement lined up. Very few teams in history have performed better when rudderless. The buck stops firmly with Howe (a terrible restart and no way t...

Re: €100 million next two windows!

Even if we spent €100m we'd still only end up with some thick overrated mercenary toss we'd massively overpaid on

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Josh Barrett returning to Reading after 7 appearances and no goals at Aldershot, not sure where he can go from here after the ill fated league 2 loan period at Coventry. A Shots fan I know absolutely raved about Osho and was really disappointed we had recalled him. He said Barrett swung between loo...

Re: New Manager

Odds for Slavisa Jokanovic fascinates me because at 20/1 seems an outsider but that is exactly who we should be going for. Excellent track record, rescued teams, promoted teams, knows the league, exciting football and is available. Its a no brainer. Reading FC - what are you doing? Get this done an...

Re: New Manager

Christ on a bike. let`s get a manager of one of the only two sides below us. all the romantic geeks on social media think he`s the man for us. His career management record is ordinary in the extreme. 37.7% win rate. how is he the man to keep us up? Because he has a much higher career win rate than ...

Re: BFTG Sheffield

The fitness they lack is in their heads. They just don’t think or do things quickly enough. Massively relates to confidence, that. A nervous player will, depending on their own inclination, either dither or panic, while in possession. Neither is conducive to good attacking football. Similarly a ner...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

You could hear the dozen or so C1871 singing quite clearly for lots of the game on the sky coverage. Although you could also hear the coaches and players call out to each other like you can on youth / reserve streams when there are 30 people in the stadium... so not exactly a win.

Not sure it's fair to say he's taking them down so much as he got them up and can't keep them there indefinitely given the constraints he's under.

Re: BFTG Sheffield

Just a mention that Sheffield Utds team that started the other night cost less than our defence that we fielded. Which I guess proves the point that if you have a good manager, with good knowledge of the lower leagues, good backroom staff, and more importantly a good scouting structure then you can...

Re: New Manager

Him apparently sitting next to Howe at the game has added significant weight to the stories. So there's a picture of this we can all see then? You’d have thought there would be, wouldn’t you.... There was definitely footage during the game of Howe and someone sitting next to him who was labelled as...

Re: New Manager

The link is very and clearly true, pretty obvious. I believe Castro is first choice but not sure it will happen. We should be focussing on managers who know the Football League and have a proven track record of getting the best out of very average players and who bring youth players through. So Par...

Re: New Manager

Isn't it plain to see that all the Castro stories (has there been more than one?) are being fed to the journo by Joorbachian, unfortunately as the journo in question is Charles Watts everybody is lapping it up Him apparently sitting next to Howe at the game has added significant weight to the stori...

Re: BFTG Sheffield

I`ve come to the conclusion that the players we have are playing to the best of their ability, in the 1st half we were biting into tackles, fitness came into it in the 2nd half, is it any coincidence we concede more 2nd half goals?, At the end of the day this isn`t a very talented bunch , that pair...

Re: New Manager

I think our upper management knows exactly what they want to achieve in terms of position and style. Unfortunately I think they've exclusively been dreaming and looking to the sky whilst tripping over their own feet. And sadly, I think it started with Howe. Wasn't he the one who laughably said we co...

Re: BFTG Sheffield

Can't blame Marshall but he's surely put himself out of contention now. I have no real view on marshall as a manager. hes done a great job with u23s, but I'm not sure that always translates to grown u football teams. but would you say that if we had brought in castro/calvahal/jokanovic a few days b...

Re: New Manager

Unfortunately the grumbling on Twitter, Facebook HNA at all does have an impact on the atmosphere around the club and in the stands even if it doesn't lead to outright x out chants. There has been plenty of booing, jeering, grumbling, silence act. I have heard the odd isolated Clement out and I cert...

Re: BFTG Sheffield

I did. It’s all well and good scoring more goals but we are shipping more too. Sort of negates things don’t you think? That's nice. Not really relevant to pointing out someone who says Clement's side couldn't break people down is talking out their arse. It's a different conversation entirely. We've...

Re: New Manager

Sounds like every other inexperienced 'coach' we've hired in recent years. So the same dull outcome if we go with him Would be nice to have a 'manager' Indeed. We need someone who is able to organise and motivate. Not sure someone who speaks no English and has no experience in this league is what t...
