Re: New CEO

Wouldn't mind seeing Tevreden back, maybe as DoF but not as CEO. Clearly the owners see something in him to move him to their other club rather than just get rid of him and you do wonder if moving him was part of a plan to get rid if Gourlay.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Taking the Biscuit was about in the late 80's to early 90's and was brilliant. A lot of it's about timing though and it greatly benefitted from being around in interesting times, not just for the club but for football in general.

Tweet in the above suggest he resigned.

That's footyspeak for sacked. The club are not going to publicly announce that their CEO has been given the boot.

Re: Clement

This is why we should focus on local talent in the Reading area as we can potentially "outbid" bigger teams where a 2 hour commute to and from training is a barrier. Thought that Southampton's catchment area comes up close to Newbury (well at least used to). Probably does, but a Newbury l...

I've watched a couple of his FIFA videos and he doesn't come across like that at all.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I agree it's a harsh punishment. Apparently he went for rock, paper scissors because the game was being broadcast live and he didn't have time to get a replacement coin because it would fcuk up broadcasting schedules. If true, that in itself tells you everything that's wrong with football IMO. Like ...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Referee David McNamara has been suspended for three weeks following Readings 1-1 draw with Man City. Having forgotten his coin for the toss-up* he had the team captains play rock, paper, scissors  Personally, I congratulate him for his improvisation. On the one hand, great improvisation, on th...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Its a team with a history of starting off like a rocket then blowing up spectacularly, managed by someone who's teams have a history of starting of like a rocket before blowing up spectacularly.

I'm predicting a bottom half finish for Leeds.

Won't recruit black tennagers for your academy but you will buy them from Monaco for €180m?

Having "history" just means that you were good once but very few of your current fans were alive to witness it and you're now shit.

Funny how their fans seem to think they Stammed themselves to defeat. A million passes going nowhere.

Blathering on about expected goals as well really is clutching at staws.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Going back to Kuhl, I'm surprised he didn't kick on; briefly looked good when he got a few games under Adkins, then we got stuffed 4-0 at Forest and he had a poor game admittedly and that was it.... I thought he was going to be a star. He looked like he had time on the ball but he fell out of favou...

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

It is an opinion piece by a Bolton fan that elicits a discussion with other Bolton fans. I would suggest it's pertinent. But please, direct me to something that will change my mind. Anyway, I still think Parky would be interested in the Preston job if it became available for the reasons previously s...

Burnley don't give a shit about Bolton, it's all about Blackburn for them. Embarrassed? You should be. I'll just leave this from a Bolton site here. The comments and poll make interesting reading. https://lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/2015/6/22/8820825/bolton-wanderers-a-club-without-a-rival

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

Bolton manager leaving to go to Preston? Come on, you know better than that. Speculation over his future at Bolton, more stable club, his home town, not moving far so not uprooting his family..... And massive local rivals. It won't happen. Not a direct move anyway Absolute nonsense. Preston's big r...

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

I could see Parky going to Preston if Alex Neil got the boot, more his sort of club and, actually, I could see Neil doing a decent job here. Bolton manager leaving to go to Preston? Come on, you know better than that. Speculation over his future at Bolton, more stable club, his home town, not movin...
