Re: Rotherham

I take it by you're answer, Clarke's not doing well? Baggie192 - question for you which we are still trying to answer. What would you say is Clarke's style of play or ethos? We just can't work it out. My personal view is he likes to keep it tight and try to nick a goal from a counter attack or set ...

Re: BFTG - Brentford

Youngish Ref-who clearly wasn't up to it-the League has to do better. Don't agree with that, I can't remember him any real mistakes and the did well with the obvious time wasting by various Brentford players while they were waiting for their right back to change his boots. I especially liked how he...

Re: Is Clarke forced to play HRK?

ladida_gunner_graham So what? Even if that's true (which is so obviously isn't) trying hard is not why footballers are employed and paid huge sums of money. He has to deliver on match days and contribute something, anything.

Jamie Mackie and Jem Karacan have made a career out of doing this.

Re: BFTG - Brentford

think it also showed how much we miss an actual centre forward. We missed Pog yesterday. Mackie works better off Pog (as did Le Fondre). Still don;t understand why Cox didn't start. Must be on his way out. Given we have no real forward options I thought it was interesting that neither Yakubu or Appi...

Re: Reasons I'm worried about next season.

think we'll have a lot of Championship journey men in the squad next year, and a load of "never heard of" overseas players. Not expecting a lot of exciting football next year, but expect us to be hard to beat and looking at a solid mid-table finish

Re: Official 2014/15 Player of the Season

I was speaking for myself. I enjoyed this season in the perverse way that it unravelled, we started expecting nothing...we got nothing...we have a team despite the efforts of our previous encumbant ownership. The FA Cup was the "hook you in" thing this season..... ........always something...

Re: What is Clarkes style of play?

defensive. Baggies friend of mine said we wouldn't score many goals when he heard we'd appointed him. How true he was. Think his style is set up defensively and nick one on the counter or from a set piece. He should work on our set plays (both ends) as we've conceded from corners in our last two games

Re: Gunter resigned because......

I read this post that Gunter has re-signed (ie quit). I was so happy for about 3 seconds. I hope we do sell him. He was useless yesterday

BFTG - Brentford

Not sure I can be bothered but Adam Federici kept it respectable with a couple of top class one on one saves and we had enough decent chances to score a couple of goals at least, Cox and Stacey being the biggest culprits. Hector was largely decent but had a few moments. Obita looked a bit better aga...

Re: What is the point in HRK

Wasn't it HRK who nobbled Mertesacker with a tackle in the centre circle? Major contribution as Gabriel was rubbish when he came on

Nameless Perhaps more to follow....

Maybe they paid for the t shirts ?

Yep, had exactly the same thought about the t shirts, and a potential future sponsor. When does our Waitrose deal run out.

Re: All support behind Villa now

And wenger was pretty ungracious in his post match interview I thought. Stating Reading were aggressive in the second half (definite undertone that we kicked them off the park) and didn't allow them to play their beautiful football. Considering our starting 11 cost less than £4 million with three ho...

Re: Well done on cup run but fans deserve better

A great effort yesterday and, for that, we can all be grateful but does it not underline the fact that this squad has underperformed appallingly week in week out this season? Much as we all enjoyed it, it's frustrating that the players can take it to one of the best teams in the country when they w...

Re: BFTG - Arsenal

Spoke to my dad earlier who is not a Reading fan, but has a slight bias towards Reading. He thought we were really unlucky in the second half and thought we would Nick it. Reckoned Mackie was MOM and he thought HRK had a really good second half. He just laughed at the Pog's efforts. Said he felt we ...

Re: Best performance in FA Cup

I thought Arsenal were below par yesterday. Something missing. When i heard their line-up I turned to my son and said it wasn't the strongest team they could put out. I'd definitely had started Walcott due to his pace. Ozil, Cazorla and Ramsey just all wanted to play in the same place all game. Ram...

Re: Funny / Annoying things you heard on Saturday..

Had three obnoxious Arsenal fans sat about 5 rows behind us in 521. They were OK at first, but got increasingly more wary as the game went on. Couple fo Reading fans complained to the stewards who "had a word" which worked for about 5 minutes. Then they became worse and the stewards just l...
