Re: Best Reading FC performances in your lifetime

and...apart from the obviouses 1987 away at Ipswich...a 1-1 draw (thanks Steve Richardson) guaranteeing our best EVER (back then) league finish. Even left the ground (thanks to the locals ‘post-match loose-change donations’) a few quid richer than I arrived 8) Remember it well. We were under attack...

Zip Good to see Kevin Bremner getting mentions here. He was a handful for the opposition.
I thought Dean Horrix would get mentions as a sub. Clever player.

Would loved to have got Bremner in the side but couldnt leave out either striker.

Re: Rumour - Liam Moore to West Brom

Birmingham mail reckons it’s nonsense Hope its nonsense we have been steadily improving losing our captain and best defender would be a disaster unless stupid money .Also we do not have ideal replacements in the squad ie Blackett and Mcintyre. TBH I would imagine the management are well aware of th...

Re: FA Cup away day memories

Zip A miserable away day at The Manor Ground in December 1983. A 3/0 stuffing at Oxford and I got very wet.

Yes went 1v0 up in the first game Ken Price scored thought we were on our way. Prefer to remember 1979 League cup first leg at the Manor won 5v1 beautiful.

Re: FA Cup away day memories

Slough in 1991 - remember the PA announcer asking the Reading fans to stop jumping up and down as the wall at the front of the terrace was (and did) collapse. Was a bit of a conspiracy theory going around at the time, that the club had thrown the game to allow Slough a money-spinning replay - thoug...

Ark Royal Man City in 93. 1-1 and deserved the replay. Another step in McGhee's revolution.

Yes remember that game did James Lambert score first .

Re: Next Manager

Just to add I very much doubt Chris Hughton would be interested. His stock is still quite high and could be an attractive option for a premier league struggler come Christmas time. Agree with all of that think we will end up with Mark Hughes dreaming of Steve Coppell and Glen Little as assistant th...

Re: GOMES OUT!

Sutekh Let’s hope the club have Chris Hughton’s number, think they should start calling now.

Unfortunately Chris Hughton can afford to hang on for a club in a better position than ourselves his stock is higher than Reading at the moment.

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

I agree with your point to an extent. But we're not talking about some average academy guy like McIntyre etc...we're talking about someone who has already represented his country at national level 42 times at the age of 18! So I don't think we do have the best of all worlds Blimey m8 anyone would t...

Re: 29 Years ago today

Final game of the season. Birmingham City 0-1 Reading Michael Gilkes scores late with the most unwanted Reading goal in history. Birmingham denied a play off spot. Anyone else at this game? Genuinely terrifying exprience trying to make it to the station afterwards. Game held up due to 2 mass pitch ...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

Even the idea of letting Loader go is madness to me unless we were to go bust if we didn’t. These are the players we should be building the future of the club around. Sick of seeing our unfinished article Academy players leave and become player of the season somewhere else, albeit at lower leagues....

thats pretty much what I'm expecting. Oiveira to sign, Baker on a season loan with a perm option at the end, Martinez could become an option on loan if he doesn't impress Arsenal in pre-season possibly Reckon someone a bit better than us will sign up Miazga permanently. Ejaria possibly, but again r...

Re: End of season contracts

Out of contract or not the club need to offload a lot of players and it has been alluded to before that they will offer players out for free as well. Lowering the wage bill is definitely our top priority. I think we will see the below leave or be offered out for nothing to trim the wage bill. Aluko...

Re: BFTG - Baggies

An excellent point. Just one gripe. Was it really necessary to boo HRK. Quite a few of our fans booed him when he was on our team, so unsurprising. He was applauded when their team line up was announced, he was applauded when he went off (it was one of his better games for us). I think the Reading ...
