Enjoyable half of football. And overall perhaps RFC edged it and had the better chances but were caught twice due to extremely poor defending and there were a lot of wayward passes.

I have to say that the defense have put Southwood under unnecessary pressure with some ridiculous back passes. I think at all levels RFC need to be better at choosing when to keep possession and knowing when to lump the ball up field. If we lose this game it will because of this issue as both the United goals were because we carelessly lost possession in our half.

Just seen replays of the united goals. absolutely shocking defending. 1st goal defender robbed outside the box. keeper brings him down. penalty scored. straight from the kick off. robbed again, player has a clear run at our defence and scores from the edge of the box,

Nice to see a strong and fairly balanced side out there.

Jules is having a poor game, gave the ball away carelessly for the first goal and then wiped Hyam out before the second. Sheppard also gave the ball away too easily for the second, although it should have been disallowed for offside.

Hyam scored and made an excellent block to stop a near-certain goal, he's been badly let down by the players on either side of him.

Goal! Mendes scores after Hyam heads a Kelly corner back across goal. We've had the better of it so far in the second half.

Really enjoyed the game- Royals unlucky in hitting the post right at the death.

FT 2-2 Much the better team in the 2nd half. but united hit the bar, and we hit the post in the last of 4 minutes injury time

Last minute of added time, Sam Smith goes around the goalkeeper... and hits the post :( 2-2

Very good match. We'd have been in trouble if United's midfield had been a little less sloppy. We certainly benefited from having Kelly and Barrett on the pitch at the same time, our play was much better than in recent weeks. MOTM was Hyam, who was excellent. The best individual defensive performance I've seen at this level this season. He should be ahead of Cooper and Gravenbech in the pecking order before too long.

Agree re Hyam. Thought he was very good. What a shame he has had such a disappointing loan at Pompey and never had a look in. Surely the club could have found him a team that needed a CB. let's hope it has not damaged his career as I have always thought he was promising.

Mendes also did himself a lot of good - although it is hard to judge as he is so much older than most on the park. And I like the look of Smith. Could also be very good.

on a side note, is it normal to keep getting those annoying pop ups on that site asking you to login to something?

A decent adblocker should stop you from seeing the adverts. You'll still get an empty popup that will open a new window when you close it.

Can't imagine the football talk in Medellin is focused much on actual games at the moment.

Absolutely. I was woken up at 3am local time by the news. Shocking situation. Can't imagine what it must be like for the players, families and fans.

Glad to hear Hyam looked good. Him and Dickie were two of my picks for big things from the youth side a few seasons ago, along with Stacey.
