Blame? You lot make me laugh. We've not ready yet to go up. Instead of wetting your pants over who's to blame why not take some comfort from us being 2 or 3 players away from the real deal. Your concern should be with our our new owners retaining Jaap not who's to blame today.

double d oxf*rd all you so called plastic fans

Non of you could have stepped out in front of 80+ thousand people and took one. We had OUR DEFENDERS take two penalties. Why don't you try and man up and be taking one?! Non of them are scapegoats they are 20 odd year old footballers who had the balls to get out in Wembley for the most important game of their lives and try take a penalty.

Sebastian the red and all you other so called fans..... do one and go support Swindon you mugs!!!!

+1

...and why didn't McCleary take one - Messi would have !

It was a shite game. We didn't deserve to win. Not sure they did either, so losing on penalties seems entirely reasonable.

Still going to kill myself in T Minus 4 hours.

McCleary didn't even step up for a pen despite taking them during the season.

McShane wasn't available to even play.

But my escapegoat is Grabban. Loads of the ball, zero goal threat. Same as always. Added bonus, he's not our player (and hopefully never will be). Not even worth a motivational boo.

FWIW I thought we were the better of two shit teams. Boys... all you had to do was score two penalties. Sigh. Seen all 4 losses.

The original post is clearly a wind-up, but if we are going to do this then John Swift has to be the scapegoat - he was dogshit from start to finish, and another one to shirk a penalty.

In fairness to him having been substituted he technically isn't allowed to take a penalty but lets not let that stop us scrapegoating him.

stressed as usual Stan is to blame, no attacking flair, defensive all afternoon, same old.

This ^^

One off game - go for it. I can't remember us even looking remotely dangerous in the final 3rd

Angry is an understatement

I'm not angry. Stam set us up correctly. If we had gone for it we'd probably have got pasted 5-0 again. He did what was right based on the limitations of our players.

Grabbon shouldn't have started
Blackett isn't a left back
VDB was shakey

Huddersfield wouldn't have torn us apart if we played 433 - look at how many goals they actually scored throughout the season - 56 was it?!

I blame Sky Bet as that is all this fixture is about. Advertising their wares. After 30 years of turgid play off football. Today's game should be enough to abandon the concept. With a £170 million at stake. No team now wants to lose. For the paying customer that makes for a non spectacle, In fact a rip off. Let league position settle promotion.

Danny Williams the only player to come out of today with any credit , but the good news is his contract is up so that's probably the last we will see of him in a Reading FC shirt

Lewis Grabbon for a striker that doesn't score many needs to do more . His hold up play was atrocious and he couldn't trap a bag of cement .

Would struggle to give anyone above a 5 out of 10 today except for Williams .

You mean like the feast of care-free flowing football that was Brentford v Reading in 2002?

The players themselves aren't bothered at all by the £100 million prize. All they care about is promotion.

None of you could have stepped out in front of 80+ thousand people and took one.

Having got the jelly legs at an under-15s five-a-side tournament and scuffed my shootout kick into the ground, the ball pea-rolling into the keeper's waiting foot, I wholly agree!
