TilehurstsouthbankSanguine Shows how open a division it is that bar two teams, you can't get longer than 9/1 on a relegation bet.
And our 33/1 to win it (not promotion, but to win it) is short, isn't it? Or are those prices pretty typical?
As for this season, it was indeed miserable, and I'm another who has barely bothered to go since the turn of the year. Worst season though? I might have gone to more games, but our last season at Elm Park, where we were relegated to League One with barely a whimper, felt much worse to me. There wasn't even a hint we were better than 24th, where we lost 5 of our first 6 games, and 15 of our last 17. Cup runs were alright mind you.
Edit - slightly boring aside, but I didn't know until reading about that 97/98 season on Wiki, that the Martin O'Neill that Tommy Burns signed as one of the magnificent seven or eight who came in and did fcuk all to keep us up is the same O'Neill who is now manager of Northern Ireland.
Isn't that Michael O'Neil?
Correct. No wonder I'm confused when I'm calling him Martin.
