Denver Royal Sutekh, saw you had Bod listed as injured for the Bolton game. Do you know if he was still injured for today?

No, impression from post Bolton match interview with JG was that Bod was practically recovered from last injury but just not risked so don’t know where he’s at currently. If there’s no further update forthcoming I would expect him to have some involvement next week at least otherwise we’ll all be saying he’s another that JG wants to ship out.

I’m pretty sure he was with his wife, as she gave birth on Friday

There you go then. Mystery solved

Expect him to be back and probably leading the line next Saturday unless Oliveira gets the all clear from the doctors.

Always surprised that clubs don’t have clauses in player contracts requiring their wives to only give birth out of season, No excuse for missing games when all it needs is either a bit of planning or reliable contraception.

Gomes fault. Should have got on the phone and told her to hold it. Poor management.

Very much doubt any player would agree to this being written into their contract! And even if it was, how on earth could it be enforceable? What happens if contraception fails? Ask the player's wife, who isn't even employed by the club, to abort her child? Just for the sake of a few days paternity leave....

That's not even considering possible religious objections.

Crazy.

If you want to earn thousands of pounds a week you have to accept there are consequences.
Players aren’t forced to sign contracts, if they value things like having kids more than being extremely rich well then can be plumbers or taxi drivers instead.

Missing a game or two, two or three times in a career? Big deal.

It’s impacted us TWICE this season
It’s the thin end of the wedge. Presumably we’ll find players missing midweek games because it’s parents evening or deciding to take the kids to EuroDisney in October half term and missing 3 games.
It’s just something that should be addressed....

Oliveira has had stitches and has a broken nose. Whether he is going to be considered fit enough to play at Sheffield Wednesday is still undecided and if he does play he will more than likely have a face mask.

Just have to wait for further news.

The FA are looking at the "incident".
