No grounds for optimism?

It looks like Clementine is solidifying our team a little bit. Strengthening up that soft underbelly that made us easy to beat last season.

I'm hoping we're going to be a stubborn, bad ass team next season that's boring to watch, very hard to break down and will pick teams off and rack up many points in a style that p*sses off our opponents and leads them to complain about us being boring and unsporting. Here's to being tactical and streetwise and realising that we're in a results business. Let's win ugly.

Sounds like what Stoke was like.

I'd rather go down then watch that every week

Things are definitely looking up. I don't get this we will be relegated stuff in some of the press and bookies have us down as. Clement just will not let that happen.

Fairly certain Clement can't stop that happening if we don't get enough points to stay up.

Are you happy with Bournemouth signing David Brooks? How much did you pay for your season ticket there?

No Chance. What a rubbish affair that will be at a neutral venue! I am IN for the Slough game on the same day!

Sutekh
Hound Remember a few years back teams like Mansfield occasionally turning up in the south section of the football league trophy to balance up the numbers, which gives an idea of the balance of north/south in the footy league. Mansfield is proper northern.

In the days of Division 3N and Division 3S, I think Nottingham had both it's clubs consistently in the southern section. I also think Grimsby might have had a season or two there as well.

Bradford Park Avenue played v. RFC in the Southern League season 1907/08. They actually beat us at EP 3-1, and finished one place below us on 17th. Stoke City were with us in our only SL2 season and we have also played them, Norwich City and Coventry City in SL1. Mansfield Town has played in both the Div 3 South and North divisions, whilst Nottm Forest and Notts County have always been in Div 3 South, never migrating to the North section. Coventry City also managed to play in both the South and North sections of Div 3.

Coventry is relatively south. Without traffic, it is an easy drive (or train ride) from Reading.

It’s like 5 miles south of Brum so not what i’d consider South. North Cotswolds is the divide for me.

It just sounds like the end of the earth.
