Green Norwich is deceptively far North TBF.

One of those places that is always further away than you think it is in the car. Like Brighton.

Not that you'd have ever travelled to those places for a Reading match

Hound Remember a few years back teams like Mansfield occasionally turning up in the south section of the football league trophy to balance up the numbers, which gives an idea of the balance of north/south in the footy league. Mansfield is proper northern.

In the days of Division 3N and Division 3S, I think Nottingham had both it's clubs consistently in the southern section. I also think Grimsby might have had a season or two there as well.

Tranmere is a real slog too. Remember driving up there towards the end of the 01-02 season and Rouge and Johnny Salad getting us the draw after being 0-2 down. Made the journey worthwhile. 8)

Grimsby were in the third division in its first year, having been relegated at the end of the previous season. It wasn't called the Third Division South until the following year though, when the league realised that division three was entirely southern clubs (+ Grimsby) and hastily cobbled together a 3rd Division North.

The pre game coverage will be awful. Don Goodman trying to insert himself into Frank Lampard for 30 minutes straight on live TV.

Not bad at all. Happy that the away days between Christmas and New Year are both London, rather than somewhere like Rotherham.

So officially we kick off the new season on television, under lights. That's going to go well..... although obviously we are only there as cannon fodder and background while the LampardLoveIn goes down. Would be nice to spoil that party.

its a little strange genuinely not really looking out for any particular fixture. Was hoping for Brentford (a) to be a midweek as I work close by, but other than that..

Really could do with less northern clubs in this division

Not happy about the opening game on the Friday night. Already arranged to go to the T20 Blast match at the Rose Bowl that evening......

Wondering why there`s a batch of games on Wednesday 18th Sept, most teams play on Tuesday usually.
