Extremely underwhelming stuff from England so far. So bored i am watching Lithuania and Slovenia. Asian groups are going as per the norm (aus, japan etc) as is South America. Although Brazil seem to be struggling a bit this time round.

Really goes to show that the issues largely are with the "undertalented" England players, although the over-cautious 1 isolated Kane up front doesn't help. Plus set pieces are still appalling and Rooney should be nowhere near the England set up unless you build a team around him which is never going to happen now.

I hate the fact that Rooney is near the team. No English manager would ever have the balls to drop him. I would prefer to see Dele Alli playing there any day.

Lithuania 2-0 up. Fun game. 2-0 up but only have 35% possession.

A nod to the fact that McCarthy and Antonio are both on the bench. First time two Reading academy products are on the same England team?

.

Deffo. Think Shorey is the only (last) player who has been playing for us actually in the squad?

But..... does the fact Mccarthy is on the bench proove how thin our squad is. I actually cannot remember the last time he playedm

Compare to Italy. Buffon (genuine legend) and a 17 year old keeper who is AC Milan 1st choice on the bench. We got Heaton and Mccarthy.

And that dreadful liability Skrtel gets rightly sent off.

Now watch England go for it

10 men and still struggling.

So lucky we have a joke group..... oh wait didn't we have one of those in the Euros? Sack Allardyce.

Jammy last minute strike from Lallana and cue everyone overlooking the unnecessarily negative and over cautious set-up.

Still it's a start and 3 points, which is all that matters, and it's early days for Sam so perhaps things will brighten up.

HRK scored against this lot and he didn't have a club, and they had 11 men :D

Only saw the 2nd half of the England game but quite enjoyed it. German commentary team were offered some praise for a decent away performance on an awful surface. Win was deserved and could have been more comfortable.

England will do the usual and qualify comfortably before failing miserably at the finals.

Kane should never have been put in the position of demonstrating his total haplessness right now and why it took so long to sub the poor sod is unfathomable.

What can we expect from this coach and this team?
Nothing and we can't compare us to other teams cause we have zero reference since ... (I can't remember)
We couldn't win versus Island 2 months ago so we are ill but I can't find any solutions ;-) except changing all!

"Wayne played wherever he wanted to," said Allardyce. "He did play a little deeper than I thought he'd play, but I was pleased with his performance."

F*cking hell. So you wait decades to get your dream job and then don't have the confidence in your ability to tell the players how you want the team to play. I don't mind a failure if you've done your best and tried something different but just basically letting the players repeat previous mistakes is a woeful start.
