I love a country going in to turmoil at or just before a World Cup. My favourite was the France squad in 2010. World Class sulking.

If they back him financially it could be a master stroke.

Or they could sack him in October and go into financial meltdown again.

They're unlikely to keep him that long. I give him 6 games

I like the way Bielsa apparently presented Leeds with a draft contract for them to sign.

This has car crash written all over it but its Leeds, so you'd expect nothing less.

His recent managerial history doesn't bode well...

He's not stayed in any club job more than 2 years and his early managerial career is a catalogue of jumping ship the moment a bigger job comes along.

The fact that someone of his apparent stature and reputation is prepared to consider a job at a mid table Championship side tells it's own story. He quit Marseilles because of "conflicts with the club management", quit Lazio after 2 days and told the players at Lille he wanted to leave before the season even started. No doubt the terms of his contract include guaranteed payments and some sort of termination clause.

What the fcuk are Leeds doing? Does any sane person want to own that club?

Leipzig confirm that Julian Nagelsmann is to become their manager in 12 months time. He still has another season to manage at Hoffenheim, and Leipzig currently have no manager.

Weird move, could probably do better if he wanted to.

With how dominent they are I was surprised they didn't take a punt on him to take over this summer. You'd have to go some to screw up at Bayern, such a powerhouse in terms of finances and squad ability. Guess its the European experience holding them back from hiring him.

Personally I'd have liked to have seen him in the Premier League, Arsenal would have been a good fit.

Stunned.

To be honest I got the impression he mentally left them last Christmas.

Weird episode this only in that at no point has he been 'sacked' or agreed to 'leave by mutual consent', or 'resigned'. It's just dragged on forever, Sarri is as good as confirmed on his way and now Conte has 'left the club'.

I heard a story a while back that Chelsea were essentially looking into having 2 managers as Conte wouldn't resign and they didn't want to sack him and give him a lump sum. It was speculated that they would have 1 official manager and one head coach, Conte would be asked not to report in for training or matches ever again and so would essentially leave but would not be able to take a job elsewhere

Any half-arsed employment lawyer would get him the full payout as soon as he's told not to attend the first training session.
Employment law still applies, even to football clubs
