It's worked for Ronaldo for years!

Rashford looked a real threat last night though. As much as it was a friendly, against a pretty average side, United fans must surely look at that kind of display and wish they had a manager that could harness that kind of potential.

The Ronaldo that has played in 7 of the last 10 CL finals and averaged a goal a game in the same period

As a Utd fan I really want Rashford to do well I'm just not convinced he's good enough to lead the United line

You don't think Ronaldo takes a ridiculous number of shots, from all over the place and quite often hollywood style like you suggest Rashford has/does?

He's one of the best players that's ever played the game, but he's also probably THE most hollywood ever.

Yep, that's very much a 'before' picture in one of those Men's Health articles.

I'd love to be able to defend him, but even taking into account unflattering angles and lighting and the potential ability to shed excess weight pretty quickly in pre-season, that's a pretty damning image for someone who you'd expect to be getting ready to save his career.

Is it actually him in that photo?

Any ideas how long JM will last? Will he last the season or be booted out half way through?

I think they're in for a disasterous season which will see them finish outside the top4 and not win a single thing

I then think JM will walk at the end

based on your own narrative

I think Reading are going to get relegated...they suffer from moderate success.

They play well but get beat makes you think success is just around the corner

Mourinho certainly appears to be lining up the excuses to save face if United struggle.

I can absolutely see the wheels coming off and him being out the door before Christmas. I can also see a situation where he uses the obvious issues to build the good old siege mentality and bore their way to a decent start and all becomes rosy again.

He'll still be an egotistical pain in the arse either way.

For the latter to work he’d have to have the players in the palm of his hand, hanging on his every word.

I just don’t see that being the case.

Saw it reported that the brief Godin rumours yesterday were because his agent phoned Man Utd saying his player was interested in joining, Man Utd make an offer, within hours Godin has signed a new improved contract which he had been haggling with Atletico over for months. lolz

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/aug/09/manchester-united-veto-jose-mourinho-wishlist-cash-fears

Alexis Sánchez’s contract – £391,000 a week with an extra £75,000 for every game he plays and an annual £1.1m signing-on fee

WTF?!
