Huge turn in fortunes, 4th place would almost be like winning something for United after the start they had. Just imagine what might have been if United had a more positive manager from the start of the season? OGS has even made Lindelof look like a decent CB in recent week, he just gives the players confidence and belief which is sometimes all they need.

Almost can't see him not being appointed now.

I think it will depend upon how they do against Chelsea in the FA Cup and how well or badly they do in the next round of the Champs League.
I hope they appoint him as his past record is dire.

Chelsea are in a bit of disarray at the moment, would back Utd to get past them and PSG can be a bit of an unknown.

His past record managing a poor Cardiff side, can't really be compared tbf.

Think sometimes previous records can be irrelevant, sometimes things just fit. Clough at Nottingham Forest just fit well, Ranieri in that first season at Leicester etc.

I feel the situation is a bit like when the youth team or Reserves coach gets promoted.
The popular guy gets results initially as the players are happier in their surroundings, especially if an unpopular manager has gone, but so often you see them lose the job within a fairly short period.

This appointment has been good for Man Utd but I will be surprised if he gets the job long term.

The real test will be when they lose and how effectively he can lift them.

Very true, but they were 0-2 down to Burnley with 3 minutes to go and they came back to draw. Which is as close as they have been so far.

What a diving, cheating, sneaky weasel and coward that Ashley Young is.
Tries to come over all 'ard by unnecessarily shoving ex-colleague Di Maria into fencing-a disgrace and a captain which says a lot for him and his club.

Lol@ the baying mob seen having a go at an ex-player DI Maria who was guilty of nothing more than getting hurt-what a lack of class..
Presumably the bottle-throwing will be investigated with the same enthusiasm as happened with the verbal abuse of Sterling by that Chelsea supporter?

On the pitch with PSG playing away without two key players and Man Utd barely having a shot says how far King Ole's mob are from the top level despite all the money spent.

You don't get much for paying a player £350,000 per week or whatever it is.
Surely a side isn't weakened much by one sub being a £95 ,000,000 player and the other a World Cup winner?

Maybe they just have too many players, after all they made 6 changes on Saturday to keep this lot fresh.

Once again they must be grateful to De Gea for preventing a massacre.

Mata has zero pace and Sanchez isn't that quick. Neither trackback. As soon as PSG realized they pushed their backline up another 20yards and were able to press the midfield. The Mata sub killed the game, he just doesn't fit the style. Bring Lukaku (who is also shit) on and move Rashford to one of the wings.

I'm not a fan of hypothetical 'do this and this would have happened' scenarios but bringing RL on would have at least been a similar setup to what we currently use

Sanchez always wants to cut in and is not disciplined. On the lead up to one of the goals he goes centrally and points to Pogba to take the left side of the pitch. Sanchez loses the ball and Pogba is out of position. By cutting in he also takes any space for Pogba to move into (Marquinos did a great marking job tbf).

Sent him flying into the hoardings and down a severe, brick lined, slope (which everyone is aware of). Young is a nasty player and isn't shy about leaving one on an opponent. He did a lot of nasty challenges in the Reading game as well.
