But those 8 games over 5 years are talked about in hushed, reverential tones by scholars of the game in places as far and wide as Stroud and Birkenhead.

There really is so much history in this one

Lately they have been great rivals and always have meaty affairs.

I'm sure Taschen will be knocking up a special commemorative book to celebrate tonight's meeting

FGR are a poor side. Total failure to have a go and take the game to Tranmere.

Tranmere far better over the two legs.

At least Newport will give Tranmere more of a game.

You obviously were not watching the game. Two stupid red cards lost the game over two legs plus a blatent penalty denied. We should have won. Tranmere are a poor side and didn't deserve to win.

I am gutted and upset. More so then any reading defeat.

Wait til you get home and watch the highlights.
Tranmere bossed the match and FGR wouldn't have scored another goal even if they'd had 12 men.

Totally agree. You'd have thought being at home last night and having made a massive mess of the first leg, they'd come out fighting. But no, yet more ill-disciplined temperament and a poor gameplan from the manager cost them.

I didn't think Tranmere were too special and would like to see Newport do them in the final.

There's something strangely heartwarming about a high profile referee being a real fan.

Martin Atkinson is a massive Leeds fan, but no footage of him a la Dean as far as I know
