John

No one is trying to win any points by 'calling' Tishbola anything.
But he is a very good player and will only get better. Even in the limited number of games he's played he's shown his quality. As you rightly say he's not quite a guaranteed starter but he's close and to sign a player who is clearly on the way down seems pointless if it is at the expense of one clearly on the way up.
Sidwell would guarantee us nothing more than Tishbola, but Sidwell would be a very short term option and probably wanting a decent wage in his last contract.
So I'd prefer to give our home grown, talented youngster the opportunity to prove himself over a much older, obviously talented but questionably fit player who would not even get a mention but for being part of a great season a decade ago.

First time Mark Aizlewood came on (age 16) for Newport County,
I'd say within seconds of him touching the ball most of the crowd
knew he would be a star. I think with some players you just know.

True some players take ages to develop, some just look the part.

I remember hearing about Wilshere age 14 or so and some former England manager
saying he shielded the ball then better than 99% of adult pros

Not saying someone like Sidwell right now might be worth more
to RFC (tho I haven't seen him playing for quite a while) but Tish
would get into the current 11 IMO. He's exactly what we need, a
Leigertwood, Vierra, Makalele, Coquelin type who just wins ball

I personally think he's good enough to start. Even if you don't you'd have a hard time denying his talent and not recognising that his development necessitates his involvement in the team over an ageing former player in the twighlight of his career, even if he may be better than Tish at this precise moment in time.

It's a no brainer.

Which is probably why John Smith doesn't get it

Not for one second of his playing time this season has Tshibola looked anything other than a full first team player. His return to fitness should make a big difference.

Not only is he good enough to start, I think he may well be just the kind of player Brian will want - so Williams (and this does not imply a criticism of him) in particular can consider himself to have some pretty fierce competition.

John Smith
CountryRoyal Anyone that has seen Tshibola play on more than occasion can tell he's good enough.

It's that simple.

No, you're wrong. Go to bed.

Our survey says it's you that's wrong.

With little experience he's demonstrated himself to have been one of the best players on the pitch when given his chance this season. The only reason he hasn't been getting all the plaudits at youth level is because we had an embarrassment of riches there, including Kuhl.

He's looked good enough whether at youth level, by all accounts on loan or actually in the first team.

And he scored at Birmingham on his full debut (though the blind officials didn't think so)

I assumed John Smith was a trolling account by the way he spouts very obvious bollocks then starts insulting people.

I'll see your "he's good enough to start" and raise you a "he's that good I think we should build the team around him"

John Smith - are you a wind up?!

Nameless I'd rather Tishbola was playing, although I guess Williams is the rarest equivalent to Sidwell. If we assume Quinn, Norwood and Tishbola are in the team it only leaves a right sided midfield space and I don't think that is where a 33 year old Sidwell would sit.

I would take Sidwell back if only for the experience and teaching you could tap into to help develop Tish and any other of the midfielders who care to listen.

Okay it would be expensive as I'm sure he would want a decent wage but I am suspending reality and assuming the owners now have unlimitedly deep pockets to pay for anything that helps secure promotion this year. Plus he might do a last twenty minutes cameo and score a vital goal to get a win/draw that gets us into the playoffs at the very least.

a reliable twitter account saying us and Fulham are both interested in Sidwell. They are the only account I listen to, correct on almost everything including us buying Hurtado for example.
