Its all gone quiet

by Westwood52 » 06 Jul 2018 11:54

Its all gone a bit quiet on the transfer front ?
Slightly worried we will start the season without the new players we need.
If funds are limited, as they always are; on the evidence of last season, I felt the priority was two mobile , energetic midfielders. Too often we were dominated in midfield.
Plus ideally two, but at least one new striker.
We can make do elsewhere.
So far:

Not sure Yiadom acquisition was strictly necessary. However his versatility, should prove useful.

Meyler: Right position; as one of the new midfielders, but maybe slightly outside the right age bracket.

O Shea: Makes no sense at all.

If we do get two new midfielders (inc Meyler), at least one of Liam, George, John will need to be offloaded (I suspect Evans); plus of course Joey. Sadly Kermie needs to go; plus Smith, who probably isn't good enough at this level.

Is Clement/Brian waiting for the World Cup to end ? If so why ?

sounds like McNulty might be happening

After that, we'll prob try to sign one more striker, plus a Kasey Palmer type Chelsea loanee. We'll get rid of some deadwood nearer the deadline

thats probably all that will happen

why can't we buy Artem Dzyuba, the Russian centre forward? I've been really impressed by his attitude and presence this WC.

He plays for Zenit St Petersburg, but is currently on loan to a lesser known Russian team (Tula). Surely we could pay the wages to attract him :?:

I'll chip in, if necessary.

Why don't you post this a week before the window closes rather than a bloody month? Your BFTG game posts are usually negative no matter how we play.
Enjoy the WC then come back when we are seriously on countdown mode to the new season.

Give a Clement a chance. We were dire at times last year. A major over haul is a neccessity. Won't be achieved in a single season either.

Won’t that make it difficult for Sterling to see the ball?
