DOYLERSAROYALER Watching SSN just now and they were going through Brightons transfer deals in and out over the summer and they were showing £5m fee for Baldock!!...surely not?? ...if so then we should definitely hold out for the full £15m for Moore

Think it has been discussed on here already. Fee is 2.5m upfront. Rest is add-ons, unless we get promoted, I doubt we will ever pay 5m.

Do people think that £5m would have been too much if it had been the figure? Seems like a pretty standard price for a striker with a bit of Championship form that could turn out ok. I mean, these days you would expect to pay £20m for a top class, proven Championship striker.

Name one top-class, proven championship striker who has moved for £20m.

Maybe £20m was a slight exaggeration, but I reckon the best Championships strikers are in that ball park.

Wolves paid £18m for Traoré yesterday.

Assombalonga joined Middlesbrough for £15m last year. And i'm not even sure you could consider him to be a proven Championship striker. Chris Woods also went for £15m.

Newcastle were technically in the championship when Sissoko went for £35m :D

Reasonably happy with the business in general over the summer

Shame we couldn’t have shipped a few more out - though suspect they’ll end up loaned

couple of decent incoming loans would be useful - that creative midfielder and possibly a CB if we decide to play 5 at the back

Just because a couple of clubs are insane doesn't make a 20% odd increase on the most anyone has ever paid the going rate for a proven top Championship striker.

Still in need of a front line striker who will get at least 20 goals a season need to spend the money to do that though and we obviously don't have it.

There is no doubt at this point the owners are not interested in investing and are looking to sell. Pretty poor transfer window, could have been worse don't get me wrong but there is literally zilch to get hyped about. We will very much be towards the lower end of the table for the foreseeable future with this regime in charge. These are the types of signings the old Ipswich teams under McCarthy made. Work horses with not a lot of quality, looking to be hard to beat. Nick the odd goal and try stay above the drop.

We could certainly do with upgrading our strikers as they move on. We certainly don't want another one on top. Good window this. Lost no one of importance, added steel and experience in areas they were needed. Only downside is wasting money on O'Shea.

O Shea is certainly an odd signing

Happy with all the others, can’t see the point of o Shea. Should have saved the money on his wages to bring in Hause

Reading are apparently looking to complete 2 loan deals before the window closes. One is reportedly expected to be a winger.

May well be Maddison who was not in Posh’s squad today.

Can imagine trying to sort a loan deal with McAnthony and Fry would be like pulling teeth one by one with no anaesthetic...good luck Gourlay and Tevreden on that one..your negotiating skills will be put to the ultimate test if this is the plan!!...

As per interview with Clement post match yesterday when asked about loan deals he said quote "We have got a couple of targets which we are working on but there's nothing for sure yet"...

To an extent this whole transfer window seems a little pointless when you can still do loans. Anyone, such as what seems likely with MM, can just go on loan with a clause to sign permanently in January

Don't be silly, it's obviously Ødegaard.

Might well happen. Once premiership clubs lighten their squads. Causing a ripple effect.

For an attacking midfield option Chelsea's Charly Musonda would be worth a punt.

Doubt he'll come here - he'll probably end up in La Liga again

It wouldn't be a loan deal but a "loan to buy". Not that we will get Maddison but expect a lot of deals now to involve clubs paying much larger loan fees with the player signing a permanent deal on 1st Jan.
