Although disappointing that it was one fewer than the previous game....

Royals and Racers U23`s up to 2nd in the Premier league 2 div 2 table after today`s matches and their next game on Friday evening is away to the leaders Wolves KO 7pm
https://www.flashscore.com/football/eng ... standings/

Once again the Royals website completely ignores the fact that the U23`s have a massive match tonight away to Wolves(the fixture is listed)
really poor show from them

No change then. OS really is awful for coverage of the U23s. You’d think that given the utter cr@pness of the first team this season they’d take the opportunity to really highlight how well the U23s are doing and perhaps even run items on individual players.

I suppose it`s good that they have at last got a report up on the U23 result page, however nothing on the home page at all.

Royals and Racers Date set for the U18’s FA youth cup 4th round tie away to Aston Villa. Match takes place at Villa Park on Tuesday January 15th KO 7pm. Hopefully game will be streamed by Villa

5th round draw has been made ahead of the 4th round and if we overcome Villa on Tuesday we have been rewarded with yet another away tie at Oxford Utd or Bournemouth who play next Wednesday at Oxford city`s ground.

STAR Liaison FLACKWELL HEATH (A) B&B CUP QF - TUES 22 JAN KO 7.45PM

If the demand is sufficient STAR will run a coach to this U23s match.

Provisionally
Fare £10 - depart stadium 5.15pm.

Please let us know if you're interested at travel@star-reading.org or enquire at STAR Base tomorrow (Sat 12th v Nottm F).

Unfortunately not enough interest to justify hiring a coach.
I will be going and hope the parking is not a nightmare. It's pay at the gate £6 adult, £3 concessions.

On a related note it's the FA Youth Cup at Villa tomorrow - anyone know of a stream covering this game?

Lewis Ward returning from loan at Northampton (where he has played disappointingly little) to go instead to FGR. Hopefully get a lot more game time

I dunno the selection at FGR is beyond awful, such a strange little ground in such a strange little place.

The Royals 15 year old( 16 next month) Imari Samuels is in the England U16 squad for the Mercedes-Benz Agean cup tournament in Turkey this week.
Incidentally Imari was the under age player the Royals used and then got kicked out of last seasons FA youth cup

muirinho Blurb up on the website about Tom McIntyre - definitely one of our own, in that he is a fan as well as an academy product, and has been playing since he was 6, even before he could officially sign, at 8. Worth a read, and nice seeing the photos of him with players in the past like Murty and Ingimarsson

https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2019/j ... -recovery/

Talking about his various injuries, he said this

But I was lucky, Reading got me to see one of the top knee specialists in the world

Obviously Reading want to protect their investment as well, but it's nice to see them looking after the academy boys like that.

Read this article yesterday, a great read. Did make me wonder whether he or his family have ever posted on here.

Trip to Woking FC tonight for the Royal`s U23 Premier league 2 cup match against Colchester KO 7pm.
It`s the last home match in the group and a win will guarantee a place in the QF`s with the remaining away matches at Birmingham and Fulham to come next month.
