God, I would LOVE to see Baldock being fed by the team
as they are playing now. He is a FINISHER

He’s missed some sitters this season and has never been prolific. I don’t think he is a finisher.

Is he? He's never shown it in his career so far... Much more active outside the box, shooting (averagely) from distance leading to the occasional worldie

I could see him working in Gomes’ system. If he was ever fit for more than 2 games at a time

Still one for another thread

Careful - you'll get some goals per minute stats soon (or goals v shots).

My mistake. I was thinking McNulty

I don't rate Baldock much as a striker

Jordan Obita won't be back this season. As I mentioned elsewhere I have heard a little bit about his recovery as he uses the chryo chamber at Bracknell Town and their pitch for 1 to 1 sessions. From what I was told a few months ago he'd struggle to come back at all and now that seems to be confirmed.

Lets hope this is not the case. Massive loss if true!!!
At least we can now get in a new LB instead of wishing for his return. There were questions on what player would return anyway.

And, sad though it is, we have no idea what his standard will be when he returns.

confrimed by Gomes he won't play again this year. Might need another Op.

Huge shame, but must be a big question over his career now

Yeah this is the risk. He can move and run etc but can't get anywhere near the stage where he could take impact from other players. I can't see him coming back if I'm honest which is tragic. Will fondly remember his playoff goal against Fulham for the rest of my days.

More from Gomes:

We are not planning to bring back Novakovich.
Meyler, Mannone and McNulty are all fit but not in the squad.

Current injured players are

Jordan Obita (got to be concerns for his entire career now as it will be over 2 years by the time he gets to play again)
John O'Shea (hamstring)
Sam Baldock (no idea what the injury is or how long out).
Paul McShane (knee)
Callum Harriott (no idea what the injury is or how long out).

Yakou Meite (ankle) and Saied Ezatolahi (quad muscle) are also thought to be injured but were not specifically referenced by Gomes when he was asked about injured players in today's press conference.
