Alex McCarthy and Hal Robson-Kanu are the winners of the 2012/2013 Hob Nob Anyone? end of season awards. Alex McCarthy enjoyed a fantastic season after coming into the squad after Adam Federici's shaky start to the season. With Federici then out injured McCarthy soon made the goalkeeper's shirt his own. His season earned him a call up into the senior England squad - as well as a narrow victory in the Hob Nob Anyone? Player of the Season awards. Mariappa and Le Fondre finished second and third in the results.

Meanwhile Hal Robson-Kanu was voted as the most improved player of last season with McCarthy finishing second in that category. The results also include votes for the best and worst Reading FC performances of the season. The stand out was the 0-3 home defeat to Wigan Athletic that picked up nearly two thirds of the result. Reading's 4-2 away win at Fulham, under the management of Nigel Adkins late in the season, was voted as Reading's best performance of the season.

At this time last year, 89% incorrectly voted that Reading will stay up in the Premier League. Less than 10% thought that Reading would go down. The predictions this season are optimistic again. The most voted outcome, with 36%, was for Reading to make an immediate return to the Premier League via automatic promotion. 31% see more play-off misery on the horizon, while a quite clearly nuts 19.5% think we're going to win the play-offs! Like that's ever going to happen! Nigel Adkins has got quite a job on his hands to appease Reading fans this 2013/2014 season. Good luck to him!
