Three More Away Points As Royals Create Gap

Reading find themselves sitting in sixth place with a five point cushion after another weekend in which results went Reading's way. All the teams in the hunt for sixth place failed to win and Reading's amazing away form continued with another precious three points away at Charlton. Reading were winners by a single goal thanks to Danny Williams strike, created by Danny Guthrie, on 74 minutes. The Royals were the better side in an uneventful game and deserved yet another away win that makes it 16 points from a possible 18 away from the Madejski Stadium.

Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Ipswich all failed to win with only Brighton managing to collect a single point. The results see Bournemouth emerge as big play-off rivals for the Royals making Tuesday night's game at Bournemouth a real "six pointer". Another away win for Reading would effectively rule out Bournemouth from over-hauling Reading as the season enters the final straight. With six games of the season left to play a continuation of Reading's away form may be enough to carry Reading into the play-offs and a shot at promotion back to the Premier League.
