Tough Challenge Expected For Reading At West Brom

Reading travel to fourth placed West Bromwich Albion this weekend hoping to put the midweek defeat against QPR behind them. After a poor start to the season there were signs things might be beginning to pick up for the Royals, after they recorded their first and second league wins of the season in the space of three games. That was followed by a good showing at Brentford where we were unlucky to just get the single point. However it was back to reality with a dismal first half against QPR and a resulting 0-1 home defeat - our fifth home defeat from six games.

That latest defeat leaves Reading with just nine points from eleven games. Meanwhile West Brom are just a single point from the top of the league after a solid start to the season that has included a 7-1 victory over QPR. It's no surprise that the home side are firm favourites for victory, so take advantage of the available betfred sign up offers to make it worth backing the seemingly inevitable.

Reading were without top goalscorer Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on Tuesday night after he was injured before the match and both he and Sam Baldock are expected to be missing from the starting eleven at The Hawthorns. Despite being on five bookings already this season, Meite will be eligible as one came in the League Cup and he will be expected to start after signing a new four year contract in the week to keep him with the Royals until 2022.

Young forward Danny Loader will be hoping to make his league debut from the bench after being an unused substitute on Tuesday night. Meanwhile John O'Shea returns from suspension and will make the journey. Paul McShane and Garath McCleary are also both in contention as they attempt to complete their returns from injury.

Former Reading player Hal Robson-Kanu is almost certain to appear at some point later in the game from the bench. After scoring two goals so far this season after coming on as a late substitute, he will of course fancy his chances again his former club as they struggle at the wrong end of the Championship table.
