Brentford is famous for having a pub on every corner of the ground. So the best bet is just to turn up at the ground and then dive into whichever pub takes your fancy! All of them are supposed to be decent enough - arrive early and it could be quite a unique pub crawl without even moving away from the ground. Food in the ground isn't anything special, but there's plenty of takeaways not too far from Griffin Park.

By Car:
Leave Reading towards London on the M4 and get off at Junction 2 to get onto the A4. You can't miss the ground. For parking it's best to get there early and there's limited street parking available.

Team news

Reading look nearly certain to bring new loan signing Adrian Whitbread into the starting eleven with Adrian Williams out injured. Barry Hunter seems the most likely player to find himself on the bench - otherwise the other central defending Adrian (Viveash) could find himself fighting to keep his place. Whitbread comes to Reading after 13 games on loan at Luton Town - he didn't do enough at Luton to earn a contract but he's hoping to do a bit better at Reading to make the move permanent. Whitbread lost his starting place at Portsmouth after an injury over the summer meant he was left out at the start of the season. On the subject of injury prone players - there is a rumour that Graeme Murty is actually fit and could even make a start. Gurney is likely to be ruled out through injury, meanwhile Martin Butler who scored last week's winner against Port Vale is likely to start, with Rougier left on the bench.

Reading - from: Whitehead, Newman, Viveash, Whitbread, Hunter, Gray, Caskey, Jones, Murty, Rougier, Igoe, Parkinson, Cureton, Butler, McIntyre, Smith, Hodges, Howie.

Brentford - from: Gottskalksson, Marshall, Lovett, Dobson, Mahon, Powell, Evans, Rowlands, Ingimarsson, Owusu, McCammon, Partridge, Williams, Smith, Javary, Gibbs.

Form Guide

Brentford's last seven matches have been away from home - with a completely mixed bag of results: 2 wins, 3 draws, and 2 defeats. One of the wins was their last LDV match (a 2-1 victory at Barnet), and one of the draws was a victory on penalties in the previous round of the LDV at Brighton after drawing 2-2 at the end of extra time. Their last two league outings have been a 0-3 stuffing at Oldham and a 0-0 draw last week at Wycombe Wanderers. At home Brentford have had five wins and six draws from their 13 games at Griffin Park.

Previous Meetings

Reading have had way more wins than Brenford through history - so lets home we chalk another one up at their place this time around.
Reading wins: 33
Draws: 22
Brentford wins: 23
Figures include League, FA Cup and League Cup only.

2000/2001 Season:
Earlier this season Brentford were one of the many teams we stuffed at the Madejski Stadium. Reading ran out 4-0 winners with a hat-trick from Jamie Cureton and a penalty from Darren Caskey that put the Royals 3-0 up at half time.
9 September 2000: Reading 4 Brentford 0

1999/2000 Season:
Reading got the better of Brentford during the 1999/2000 season - a single goal by Adie Williams gave us the three points at home and a rare Andy Gurney goal earnt us a share of the points at their place:
11 March 2000: Reading 1 Brentford 0
2 November 1999: Brentford 1 Reading 1
