Re: Championship - Wages League Table 2011/12

Didn't we only make a small loss of say £3m? That's very well managed at a very competitive level. Certainly gives me confidence with next season in mind. It should be easier to get our targets this time, rather than consistently lose out.. it was consistently around 5 + million in the championship...

Re: TSI - The Promises, Policies & Progress Thread

Interesting stats from Reading's 2011/12 Championship season:-

4th highest wage bill (£27m)
2nd in highest wages to turnover (135%)

Also we did only make a very small loss (under £3m)

Re: TSI - The Promises, Policies & Progress Thread

Topical timing in light of today's result:- Southampton net expenditure of transfers this season is £37m. I think every on here would have to agree they now have a superior squad to us and a much better chance of staying up. Yet they just announced a £900k profit for the 6 months to Dec 2012. Would ...

Re: Aston Villa (H) Predictions

100% agree Tempo is key. Of the things that made the Wigan game really feel like those horrible Fulham and Bolton matches was that the team was so flat. I want to see them demanding to get the ball back in play, quick throw ins, Federici sprinting to take a free quick. Get at Villa fast and early. L...

Re: Aston Villa (H) Predictions

Yep. Unfortunately see a home defeat here.

1-2

Go 2 nil down then score another late goal which makes result look closer than actually was.

How's that the Reading Way? We've never beaten a "big 4/5" in our league history* FWIW ignoring the smarmy comments I do agree we are down if we lose. We're probably down anyway but there would be no coming back from back to back home defeats Wigan & Villa. *don't count Liverpool as th...

Re: Did you leave early?

When Wigan fans are singing "we want 4" you it's time to leave. I have no shame in admitting I left with 15 to go, jumped in a cab and was in Oneils in time for the rugby Kick off. Lovely. I can also say that sitting in the South stand has to be one of the worst experiences one can have at...

Re: Wigan Prediction Thread

I went to the Chelsea v Wigan game last week (don't worry I wasn't paying). Observation about Wigan was that they are very tidy in the middle third of the pitch, but vulnerable at the back and a little toothless up front. I can see them causing us some uncomfortable moments, but ultimately us prevai...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Interesting insight re: FFP I received today. UEFA are genuinely taking this seriously, they are even employing a third party, sponsorship measurement company to evaluate the commercial revenue claims of each club. Therefore if club X says they receive £50m per annum from sponsorship (and there look...

Re: The 2012/2013 Champions League Thread

Was fortunate enough to be working at the Celtic game last night. Just amazing. 4 stands absolutely rocking - and I don't mean just singing, I mean everyone jumping around like manics. Have never been to a game with a comparable atmosphere. Made me very very jealous. Was in the tunnel before the gam...

Re: What have West Ham Done That we havent???

What complete, and total bullshit. 7000 extra seats bring in £5 million a year - When you take out the additional costs of running those 7000 seats, you're talking £4million tops - chicken feed - it has nothing to do with the size of the stadium. Match attendance makes up a very very small percenta...
