Re: European Leagues Thread 2010/20011

I think they follow the central European rule - mundane home kit, save all the crazy for away shirts.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2010/20011

Bit late on this, but Wisła Kraków took their 13th Polish title at the weekend by beating city rivals Cracovia 1-0 at home. There are still three rounds left in the Polish season, but Wisła's closest rivals Śląsk Wrocław and Jagiellonia are now 10 and 11 points behind. This is the 6th time Biała Gwi...

From WSC's Weekly Howl - "from Dominic Hinde "With reference to Preston's tubby strikeforce, as mentioned in last week's Stickpedia , I would like to contribute a story which to my knowledge is entirely true. A friend of mine's fiancee is a life-long Preston fan and knows enough people at ...

Re: Flags @ Wembley

I think we need to utilize the crest of Berkshire. Something that bellows 'I'm proud of my county, and you?' Chunky cotton, rather than cheap synthetics, would also raise us a notch or two above the rest.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2010/20011

Lille OSC take the French Cup, 1-0 over PSG. A lovely free kick from Obraniak in the closing minutes sealed it. Not a great game; often very slow and with few chances, but it's French football so not sure why I expected otherwise. This Lille team are normally quite good to watch, though, and it's a ...

Re: 17-21/Concessions

I've often thought it strange that the club have never tried to attract any uni students to the ground as Man City do. It's walking distance from the campus, and even 100 more tickets sold per match would be something.

Re: Police and Steward 'Kettling'

RL, I was indeed there last night. We hung around for 5 minutes or so in the concourse, and had no problems leaving by the road alongside B&Q. That alone suggests this was hardly Mayday-style containment. Luckily i was with papereyes, whose big, strong arms are the greatest of comforts in times ...

Christ, we all love a moan but that wasn't kettling. They closed off one road to Reading fans as it was presumed chucking them all in together would be a bad plan. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

If anyone's considering backing the blue team this weekend, everyone's favourite ongoing farce have published a handy guide for those who are 'not yet diehard fans'. Includes tips such as using the affectionate nickname 'Blues', not to say you like Colin Summerbee and that the ground is called Eastl...
