Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round 2011/2012

* conspiracy mode on* Maybe Reid knew too much about the dodgy goings-on and Ridsdale was afraid he'd talk to the FA / whoever. Sack him with a big payoff and a confidentiality clause and no-ones any the wiser. * conspiracy mode off* As much as I'd love that to be correct and for Risdale to be houn...

Re: Plymouth v Barnsley game

TBF it's just generally always nice to see mouthy little gobshite teams like Plymouth and Brighton relegated. What exactly are you basing that on? Surely your whole opinion on those two clubs isn't purely based on the fact that two clowns have come on here in the past on a wind up?! For what it's w...

 I thought that he just pointed at the SKY! Oh well. I look forward to a string of similar celebrations. What next? RIP Rex on a Manchester United shirt when Rooney's dog dies? To be fair, you'd do well to spot Lampard in that photo - he wasn't playing in that game & it was his team mate...

Re: Bobby Convey Leaves

Terffic season in 05/06, and since arriving here he has opitimised the 'Reading way' perfectly. Never forget reading an EP article about him explaining that although every-so-often the club send some players to do hospital visits at the childrens ward at RBH, Bobby Convey went once a week of his own...

Re: Actim Index

JC My recollection is that Shorey was quite good at free kicks, but I can rarely recall our scoring from corners he took.
I would rather have those 22 goals than lose Hunt.

Maybe so, although it doesn't change the fact that he did take the majority of our corners ahead of Hunt.

Re: Actim Index

If you look at the official stats for assists then SHunt has 16 so far this season, next is Kightly with 12 then Kebe with 8. Given he has 6 league goals as well it is not surprising to me he is up there. I don't really care how successful his pass rate might be or accuracy of crosses the fact is t...

Re: Hunt should never take a penalty again

It is a theory that has led to Leroy Lita missing a couple IIRC. :| It isn't a theory at all. It is a fact that Lita has missed a couple. Yes, and he was taking the penalty because he grabbed the ball first after it was awarded. If we had a set penalty taker then Lita would not have been taking the...

Re: Hunt should never take a penalty again

Wasn't it made fairly common knowledge that the rule with penalties is that whoever gets the ball first takes the penalty, What the Fcuk!!?? Are we back in primary school? I don't dispute what you are saying, but I find it absolutely amazing. There was a certain logic to it based on the theory that...

Re: Hunt should never take a penalty again

Wasn't it made fairly common knowledge that the rule with penalties is that whoever gets the ball first takes the penalty, and we do not have a chosen penalty taker (I vaguely remember this being raised in an interview with Dillon from the OS). This rule is exactly how Hunt came about taking penalti...

40%! Deos this still apply if Harper has signed a new contract since then...? Yes, wasnt that the argument we tried to use when we didnt want to pay York more money for Murts? I'm sure I heard somewhere that we claimed that we released Murty during one of the times he was out injured for a while th...

Re: Speculation: A Busy Summer

INS:Fox from Coventry, Surman, Ledley or Halmosi, Watson or Hughes, Kightly and Nugent would be brilliant business over the summer, I wouldn't mind DeMerit aswell if we do have a decent clear out, but that isn't as much of a necessity. We have to keep thinking like a Premiership club in terms of tra...

Re: Would we even think of doing business??

If we go down, however, I could see us losing at least 5 or 6 players. You're a pint short of a glass! Who exactly?? Kitson, Hunt, Doyle, Shorey, Rosenior, Lita, Matejovsky aswell perhaps, would all probably look for a move to a Premiership club, Fae will probably go back to France. Some of the dea...

To be honest this will get blown out of proportion. The Cameroonian Pysio was clearly trying to attend to the player but was being blocked off by people who were just trying to bundle him on a stretcher. I have never seen an incident before where the stretcher bearers have attended an injury before ...

Re: Kitson for England

Kirkland ahead of Green, Davis and the fact that in a squad of 30 there are 8 center backs (12 Defenders overall) yet only 5 strikers baffles me. It annoys me that some players seem to have been dropped due to poor form/not being in their club sides, yet others are hardly setting the world alight bu...

Re: Kitson for England

Thought I'd bring this back to the top as the preliminary squad is announced today at 15:30. Early rumours are that Beckham will not be included, Agbonlahor, Kitson and Bentley will be in and there may well be a permanent change of captain, Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard are the two front runners.

Re: Udo Nwoko, SSN state he will be signing

Could he have been the "A Trialist" who played in a behind closed doors friendly earlier in the season? Or was his identity established & I missed it? Wasn't he Emerse Fae's cousin or something..? By the sounds of it Nwoko had a 2 day trial at the club quite recently that he presumed ...
