Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

How different is that to the times before football was invented in 1992 though? Teams having a successful period and rising up to the top division for a while then dropping back down the leagues for a while has happened throughout the past 150 years (Wolves, Portsmouth, Burnley etc). In the 70s/80s ...

Surely Port Vale 2 - Exeter 0 also warrants a mention!

Re: Away followings

Looking at the top three, it would not be surprising if all of those are playing in the Championship next year so, depending on who comes down, we could well be even higher placed. I expect we'd put up a better showing than Rotherham. Sheff Wed and Brum would likely do better, but some of the other ...

Re: Squad Watch 2024/25

I don't think that we need to "get rid" of NGW. His contract is up at the end of the season and I cannot see us offering him a new one nor him accepting a new one while Selles is still here.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Yup. Royalmail was great for its time. Graham published one of my posts as a match report and people were truly impressed - "you're on the internet!" ;-)

Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

Well, might Wycombe also be interested in buying a decent local-ish stadium close to a major motorway at a bargain price too? Adams Park is small capacity and difficult to access and so is limiting for a club with ambitions to rise up the leagues. Maybe the phoenix club can pick both the stadium and...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

So, getting 25M for the training ground will allow us to cover the 1M until the rest of the club can be sold. Does that mean that the surplus can then be used to pay back some of those interest-free loans Dai made to the club?

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Leicester drew at Hull. They'd now need to at least win 8 and draw the other of their 9 remaining games.

Re: Who do you consider to be a rival?

My first Reading match was at home to the Swine - my dad just didn't click that it was a derby and there was quite a few scuffles and police on horses etc. The Pox definitely that 3-0 defeat at the Manor Ground during Bullivant's tenure still rankles.

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Sadly, yes, Ipswich scored a last minute winner so it they can still reach 108. I guess I was looking at latest scores not as I thought final scores

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Ipswich dropping points means that they, like Leeds, can now only match 106.

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Yeah - Leeds can only match with 100% record until the end of the season; Ipswich could still beat with 100% until the end of the season and Leicester can only lose twice and win the other 9 which looks much less of a formality than it did a couple of weeks ago... They need to win 9 and draw 2, if ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (a)

Millsy it seems like NGW and Selles had a falling out. If we're not going to play him, might as well have him loaned out. His contract is up at the end of the season so he'll be off then anyway
