Re: The Non - League thread

Example of some of Basingstoke Town's fixtures. How embarrassing is that! No disrespect to the clubs in this division but the Town the size of Basingstoke should not be facing opposition like Slimbridge, Moneyfields, Sholing etc. Aug 17 Barnstaple Town (home) Aug 20 Sholing (away) Aug 26 Winchester ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

There’s a disappointing lack of ITK’s regarding the kit this year. Paul doesn’t even seem to know anything. I do, but can’t make it to obvious. What I will say is don’t get to excited about the new shirt, Macron come to conclusion you can’t do to much with a blue and white hoop shirt. What you can ...

Re: New Training Ground

There's going to be two domes as far as I can tell. One at The Forest, which I suspect will be the more public-friendly, community based. And probably a bit of sweetener for the school, for looking after their Academy kids. Planning was granted some time ago, but it's taking forever to get going. T...

Re: New Training Ground

Was going to be at Forrest school in Winnersh was it not? https://www.bracknellnews.co.uk/news/15412014.reading-fc-football-dome-to-come-to-forest-school-in-winnersh/ Similar setup to what QPR have over at Heston. For me, and I know it costs money, just feel they missed a trick to create a real cen...

Re: New Training Ground

Reading through the planning documents, it sounds like access to the opposition teams, fans etc will be slightly easier at Bearwood. There's a separate entrance, parking, security lodge and café to the north of the site, plus their own dressing room. RFC players and staff will use the south lodge e...

Re: New Training Ground

Real shame they have not made the plans to make this the centre piece of the facility. After being at Hogwood etc I am surprised they have maintained their Category 1 status for so long.

Re: New Training Ground

It would not have been hard to put the security between one pitch and the rest of the facility to allow people to attend some games. We ought to be able to see the future of the club playing more often. In fact I think Cat 1 academies should be required to make more games accessible. Having said th...

Re: VAR

It's a nice idea but Mike Riley said yesterday that the EPL (ugh) won't be using VAR like they did in the WWC and there will be less of the nonsense we've seen these last few weeks Yeah, saw that yesterday, which does change things. Who is going to be the first bell end manager or someone on the be...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

Whereabouts in GP is the station going to be? Tried googling around etc but couldn’t find the exact location. Guessing near the A33? Surprisingly enough, it will instead be by the railway line and so not near the A33. Just north of the Kirtons Farm Road bridge. So, how far is the walk to the ground?

Re: Jose “3-4 Signings This Week”

Keeper and Oliviera are a done deal - I don't know yet about the other 2. Good stuff, know you mentioned Oliveira has been done for a while Guessing it is from Diaby, Ejaria and Galeno for the other spots Not wanted at Norwich but still employed by them, he has had guarantee's from us but players n...

Re: Jack Stacey

Only in the sense that they were two 3rd or 4th choice squad players who left because they wanted guaranteed first team football, despite the club offering them improved deals. In both cases, the player chose to leave. It's really not that difficult to understand. Still, if we do get the £1.3m sell...

Re: New Training Ground

Would be really nice if there was a way fans could get to see Bearwood for ourselves. Access to some of the age group games would be nice. I understand issues with security meant they really tightened up access at Hogwood but it seems a shame to have such a great facility and it be completely off l...

Is Stacey another Antonio moment? Are the usual coming out to defend some of our dire financial playing decisions over the years? Only in the sense that they were two 3rd or 4th choice squad players who left because they wanted guaranteed first team football, despite the club offering them improved...
