Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

For me, the most positive thing to come out of this season is the re-connection between the fans and the people on the pitch. We all know that you can't expect to see your team every single match, we do however expect to see effort and commitment from the players, and we're getting that now after w...

Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

Benchmark for me are the Portsmouth and Bolton away games. What did they have over us, to turn us over so emphatically. Style of play? Fast wide players? Quality of player in certain positions? Match off against that with what we have now and we would be just fine, if we can find that type of player.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

Up there with our greatest win and performance of the season, away game, and i take this to a 6 pager - unheard of! Brilliant first half, battling 2nd half with some fight, particularly those 15 minutes after half time. Well timed substitutions. Other bullet points to note. Wing is just a fantastic ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Great voices from all the travelling Imps. Beggars belief how Reading are down at that end of the table Reading a good side especially out wide. Have to say Azeez is a real handful - can we sign him, or is he on loan from a higher club? Reading despite their place are pretty decent side with some c...

Re: The Non - League thread

Plymouth Parkway have to play 8 games over the next 16 days. 5 of them are at home. Good chance tonight's game will be called off. I imagine they will be very careful in players they pick for these games to ensure they get the points needed to stay up. Tomorrow’s match postponed after today’s pitch...

Re: The Non - League thread

They did move to Taunton( from Plymouth Parkway) but immediately matches got postponed because the Taunton pitch was no better than Plymouth’s. ....if I read correctly the news on NLM is that the National League are insisting TAUNTON'S next home fixture is played at Gloucester City too !! Happens t...

Re: Selles In

Great stuff. I do worry that we are not as far from the relegation places as the article suggests, especially with any more points deductions. But the article gives me confidence we can survive on merit. I was at the Cambridge game, it was very impressive. OTOH if we do survive, the thousands of di...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Is that like the statement from Bowen that the sale should be complete by early New Year. Or when we should have exclusivity within about a week, three/four weeks ago. And the next thing we heard was Bearwood was being sold to Wycombe and Dai had changed his mind again? Howe's statement is obviousl...

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

It's the downs in the National League that I find most fascinating. Oxford City in 24th place are as good as doomed, but the next ten points from 42 to 52 span 14 teams, right up to Rochdale in 1oth place, who are only eight points outside the play-offs. In fact, ten teams span the five points betw...

Love him or hate him, trust him or not but Huang Kad has just posted a picture of a corner flag. One of those situations where you don't trust the account but know it has been right on more than one occasion (wrong on others) and hope this is one more occasion where it is right. Typical that he'll ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Wycombe dont have the money, the owner does not have this money but this Georgian billionaire business acquaintance of the owner does. Surely we are a better proposition than Wycombe - maybe he is buying us. Perhaps the training ground is a quick fix buy to get money moving to settle the club, clear...

Nigel did not pass this offer to dai. pang told Nigel that dai’s plans had changed and the focu...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I see the Wycombe owner has liked a tweet in response to a planned protest at Wycombe by Reading fan's saying "How about you find out the facts first before arranging a protest outside another teams ground".

blythspartan Apparently some fella with 2 bodyguards has just rocked up at the club. Maybe it’s a new owner or there’s a bigger plan afoot here. I guess time will tell.

Anyone know why Super Sunday ko times have gone wonky? Manchester derby kicked off at 3:30, Liverpool v Citeh is 3:45 Police advice - linked to fans safety. Arrival of the teams coaches to attempt to not have it pelted by missiles etc etc. Not sure what the time change makes to that - but that's th...

Amazing stuff from Shef Wed who looked dead and buried a while back. unfortunately they have Leeds and Ipswich next so that good run will probably come to an end. Their young German manager may be offered some better jobs in the summer Agree, they have done amazing. Equally QPR have put up a brilli...

Re: Weekend Football

Championship is crazy this year. Just look at that table. A record number of points will be required to stay up this year.

Watford in 12 on 44 points are only 2 straight defeats away from being caught by team sat in 23rd. Crazy.
