Re: BFTG - Luton

Made it down for this one , a fantastic team performance against one of the worst sides I have seen in a long time. As others have mentioned Swift and Richards were outstanding. I left Nottinghamshire at 3am straight after a night shift to come down to Reading. I left Reading at 7pm to go home I’m ...

Forbury Lion
URZZZZ Graeme Murty was stealing a living from us when he joined - out for so long we fans chanted "We thought you were dead" when he finally did return from injury.

Re: RIP - Gordon Neate

Very sad news and condolences to his family. Fred forking the pitch at EP at h/t, Jimmy Wallbanks running on the with the magic sponge and the chap whose name I forget now - short, always wore a bobble hat and traipsed around the cinder before game selling Golden Gamble - are three endearing and en...

Re: Manchester Utd (a) - FA Cup

Does anyone know if we have sold out? I am now going to be in Manchester on the Saturday and would really like 2 tickets Website implies I can still buy but options are greyed out on the reading fc direct site but it is ambiguous as to whether that means not available as it also says you need to cal...

Re: BFTG Forest (H)

Agree with the comments on Obita and McShane but also thought Quinn, as he often is, was an unsung hero.

He covers a lot of ground doing the dirty work and when in possession very rarely concedes it.

Re: BFTG - Huddersfield

Turning point for me was Al Habsi's save at 2-0 down on the one on one. Game over if he did not make that.

Possibly turning point of season?

Re: Rotherham game

I shall be there again as, despite the woeful performance dished out last season per the above, I was glad you stayed up last year since it is generally one of the better fun away days with friendly locals and good ales. Shame it is a Tuesday again

Re: Portsmouth Away Tuesday 25th August

I've never seen us win at Fratton either in several visits so I'm probably in. First visit was 1979 I think. We won 1-0 in the cup, missed it, went the next week in the League lost 0-4  . I think this will be the first time we've ever played them when we've been a in a higher division. Still n...

Brum Royal A ground I've not been to before which leaves: Shrewsbury, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Barnet, Rochdale, Rotherham or Burton

Great shout! Same for me almost exactly

Shrewsbury A
Carlisle A
Hartlepool A
Barnet A
Burton A

I have done Rochdale and you get another chance for Rotherham this season.

Re: BFTG - Rotherham.

Tricky one for me as I wanted Rotherham to stay up. Great beers and chat with locals after. Now freezing my arse off in Sheffield waiting for coach to London. Only went as new ground and danger of Rotherham being relegated. We were poor. Rotherham also given what was at stake for them. Nice ground g...

Re: Why supporting Reading is better than supporting Arsenal

Rather than why better than Arsenal specifically, I would rather you would have asked why supporting Reading is so bloody fantastic and better than almost any other team I can think of for all the reasons stated above. Last 15 seasons we have ALWAYS had something to play for right until the end and ...
