Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

So, what I could tell from abroad a choice of video and BBC radio Berks commentary. Combined would be perfect. I chose commentary but that's just me. Either way I appear to have paid nothing so far for a service I was considering having the pay £110 for. As per sky v radio Berks I opted for the lat...

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Well, on the personal positives I seem to have somehow listened to the game at no cost despite being prepared to shed £110 as the first games this
Season coincide with my trips abroad. I managed to see video but opted for audio commentary.

Re: Do you have another team?

2nd team: FC Saturn Ramenskoye, our local team in Russia. I don't get to many games but it's some compensation for missing Reading games occasionally. They are now back up to the 3rd tier after some financial issues saw them thrown out of the Premier League and into the 5th tier (someone even wrote...

Re: Parking at Wembley

Going to charity shield game on Sunday and want to drive to Wembley on Sunday. What is the best way/cheapest to get there? Was thinking train at first but could drove to Uxbridge or something and get the tube? Haven't been to Wembley for donkeys years! Park at Beaconsfield station then train to Wem...

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Has anyone been able to ascertain whether you can use the same iFollow account home & abroad? I'm away for the first 2 games of the season. I want to sign up next week for the overseas version to see those games then use it back in the UK when I can't make away games and I'm out of range of BBC...

Re: Last 100 players on loan

Just realised I also missed Terry the Taxi joining us on loan latter part of 83/84 - although he never made a 1st Xi app. ENFA doesn't mention his loan stint, but Rothmans 84/85 does on page 80 and 429, so many thanks to the OP for that snippet. Which means Jordan Mutch was our 130th loanee. Also w...

Re: Sunderland Crap

Although we may have different opinions on Sunderland as a town, I would like to give my sincerest condolences to Bradley Lowery's family and I hope Bradley didn't suffer at the end of his life. Thankfully he is now resting in peace and his last moments were with his family which made the situation...

Re: Build the worst Reading footballer

Andy Hughes's crosses need a special mention too! Rarely hit the first defender Normally the second bus stop In fairness to him he was never a winger Actually quite decent when played as an attacking midfielder through the centre We called him Puppy as reminded us of a Boxer puppy. All energy, litt...

Re: Build the worst Reading footballer

Onside awareness/timing - Adam Le Fondre. Simon Church, surely. Michael Gilkes's crossing Really? OK, half of his crosses went into the Tilehurst End, but the other half picked out Jimmy Quinn at the far post perfectly. For all the bad crosses, there have probably been very few wingers who put in m...

Re: Build the worst Reading footballer

Bollocks Nobody in the 1970s could only last 10 minutes without being knackered like Drenthe. Can't believe it's taken two pages before he came up He was in the very first post (one of my nominations for bad character). But I could also have nominated him for a host of other characteristics, none o...

Re: Build the worst Reading footballer

Problem is you guys appear to have all been spoilt by first and second tier players. If you want genuine dross, go back to the early 1970's when we were in the lower reaches of tier 4. Malcolm Swain anyone? The worst footballer I have ever seen for any side. Bollocks Nobody in the 1970s could only ...

Re: Build the worst Reading footballer

Luke Chadwicks face his pace was a bit special as well I remember going into the club shop at Ipswich and seeing a photo of a night game from above the ground. The photographer had used some sort of filter/delay effect that showed all the players in motion. We realised Reading were the oppo and the...
