Re: Anton To Face Fans Backlash?

Reliable posters who defend the club and who don't believe in conspiracy theories are now coming out saying they have serious doubts. And posters like me who have been very critical of the club and Madejski are now coming out saying chill out. What's HNA coming to? LOL @ a photo of handshake with a...

Re: Anton To Face Fans Backlash?

Like Handbags I have been hearing a few alarming doubts raised by people who have much closer links to the club than I. One with long term historical links came out with remarkable ‘I think we may be in trouble’ statement, another with local media connections told me ‘he did not like what he was hea...

Re: The Play-Offs Thread 2013

We all knew we needed numbers when we went up, I think palarse will need double figures in terms of new players. Much like us their local consortia of owners just don't have the cash to buy two thirds or more of a Premiership team, given their history I doubt they will pile on the debt, so straight...

Re: Training Ground - NEW

The transfer of Hogwood from the MOD to RFC had a covenant on it restricting its use as I recall. I seem to recall the price being agreed subject to any profit on future development being shared with the government. Could be rubbish of course. I think you will find that Hogwood was never transfered...

Re: BFTG v QPR

Well, contrary to a lot of callers, on my way home, to Radio Berks - I thought we played ok there - everyone had a good game, everyone got stuck in. Disgusted with the bloke behind me who continually abused Blackman and the fans chanting for ALF - Blackman plays because he's told to and as Mick Goo...

Re: Reading failing to invest

With hindsight, what I think we can say is that we were too conservative with the signings and money in the summer. With McDermott having too much faith in the squad he had and having no coherant signing strategy so that he could make one or maybe two key signings in each area of the pitch to reall...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

Sad it has come to this, however I dont think he had what it takes to succeed at the top level, thanks for the good times Brian, time will tell if the decison and its timing are right for Reading. Hopefully we will apoint a new manager quickly so he can look at the squad, cut the deadwood, update ou...

Re: Is the next game a 6-pointer?

seahawk10 I think we should be awarded 6-points for all of our wins the rest of the season.

Continue as we played on Saturday and dont think even six points for win would help us :(

Re: 14 years..........

The only time I have got up and walked out of a Reading game before full time. When the sixth went in I took refuge in the Jazz bar (or was it Shooters in those days?)

Working alot round the Bristol area in those days and had to put up with alot of piss taking for months afterwards

Re: What could we do to survive now???

wouldnt be surprised if Madjejski steps down within the next year or so.....maybe Samuelson will step up as chairman???? Possibly sooner rather than later I would think. After his massive financial 'hit' with his print business going broke recently, prior to that the Station Hill redevelopment hitt...

imo only sig was sold early lomng had a very long time with us tbf and both were sold purely to fill holes we couldnt otherwise fill. we arent in that position any more Maybe if we had not had that 'suprise' legal bill at the end of our last top flight season that was by coincidence the same as the...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Cruelest defeat possible - topped off by the sky commentator quote "if it wasn't 4-1 than that would have been a penalty..." plus the 4 (generous) minutes of added time that turned into 5 - how?? If Brian gets the tin tack over that then we may as all "go and follow Chelsea!" Re...

Re: Are we just a team of hoofers?

If you look at the statistics on Sky we make about 250/300 passes less than every other team! They're still passes. If we're not a passing team, then we'd be making zero passes. Even by your unspeakably low standards, that is pathetic. That may well be THE stupidest thing I've ever read. Correct Ia...

Re: PANIC PANIC PANIC

At the moment we should be on a level of "concerned" rather than panic. Panic mode shouldn't click in until at least we're through worried level when we've had more chance to see other oppoenents and not really on the 1st 4/5 games where 3 of the opponents will have been teams that, frank...
