Re: MATCHWATCH : Cambridge United (h)

The squabble was between Smith and Mukairo, Knibbs was peacemaker.
Smith had a likely tap in if Mukairo had crossed and Smith told him so

Re: Selles In

A competent manager should be able to organise a reasonably solid League 1 back 4 from who we have, with Holmes and NGW added. Same for a front 2 or 3, with Smith added. The problem is there is no centre midfield box to box engine room to link the two together. Savage and Knibbs dont look up to it, ...

Re: Most important goal in our history?

Maybe not the most important and not one of our goals but Danny Murphy's for Fulham at Pompey in 2008 hurt as it sent us down

Re: Worst and best rival fans you have seen?

On the Paddington train back after games there are some good, some bad but Arsenal and Fulham always stick out as smug tossers. The Old Den was intimidating except for the night of Dean Horrix's family's testimonial game that was very well respected - from memory I think Gazza gave his time to play ...

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

I was at that game in 1970 - in the morning I had watched Huntley and Palmers play at Vauxhall Motors near to Kenilworth Road in a decent level non league game - a friend of mine's dad played for H and P.
I think Luton won at Elm Park in the return game with Macdonald scoring the winner late on.

Re: FA Cup away day memories

Football special trains to Bridgwater and Shrewbury in the early 70's - I think we won 3 0 at Bridgwater but can't remember the Shrewsbury score
More recently Derby away in the run to the semi final with Yakubu's winner was good fun

Re: Evening kick-off time

Or a petition to Great Western trains - there is a fast train to Paddington at 10 12 that unless it is a few minutes late the buses don't usually get you there for - you then have to wait until 10 44 for a slower train

Have seen Hamlet a few times this season - Sweeney is comfortable on the ball, good to watch and clearly has an eye for goal - he's a footballing midfielder not a grafter
