Re: New owners' top 5 priorities

1. I want any new potential owners to give Ruben their 100% backing next season. 2. I want them to ensure all of our good youngsters are put on long term contracts. 3. I’d like more communication from them, but it’s not crucial. 4. Sensible player recruitment. 5. Provide more support for the women’s...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

I really enjoyed the game yesterday. It was a fairly end to end and overall I thought we were the better team. Oddly, it all seemed a bit subdued when the game ended. Has there been any mention of another points deduction incoming? Anyway, changing the subject this could be the first season I can re...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

I don’t think Barnsley’s home record has been too good recently. I think if we turn up and aren’t too jaded after Tuesday’s game we can get a positive result. In the past, game 3 of 3 when we’ve had games in quick succession hasn’t gone well.

Re: Rival Watch

After Oldham’s great escape in the 92/93 premiership season I’d never take anything as a given until we’re mathematically safe. I am pretty sure Oldham were 9 points behind Palace with 3 games left and survived. I remember thinking we were safe in 2007/8 and that ended badly. Obviously, I am very co...

Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

This has been my favourite season since we last got promoted to the Premier League. There were a few games where I lost faith in Selles, but I have loved visiting stadiums I hadn’t been to in years. Until the sale is done I can’t get too optimistic about next season. Potentially, we could be pushin...

I couldn’t go tonight, but wins like this make all the sh*t worth it. I am so glad I support Reading rather than a big Premiership club.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

If people are debating it, it can't have been a clear error. Compare it to Derby where even their fans were admitting we'd been mugged. Agree Tbh, although bad referee decisions feel rubbish at the time I’d still take them over VAR all day long. The thought of going crazy celebrating a goal to get ...

I’d love this to be a comfortable 3-1 home win, but fearing a defeat. I’d take an entertaining 2-2 draw right now.

Re: Hob Nob Anyone? player of the season 2023/24

I vote Bindon mainly because he’s improved since Abbey left and must be one of the first names on the team sheet. I also rate Mbengue (centre back) and Craig. The Bolton fan I was chatting to on Monday thought the penalty aside Mbengue looked class. A special mention to Smith as we improved when he ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

Almost completely outplayed today. They looked a class above where we're at and was frustrating how easy it was to get behind us, just a simple ball over the top. Pereira - 6- can't see why people are questioning whether he should be in the team. Wasn't at fault for any goals (although didn't see 5...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

No real complaints about that. Bolton were the much better team and scored their first 3 goals at the perfect time. So often timing of games is crucial. They’re chasing Derby for automatic promotion and were well up for the game today. Plus, I think it was their biggest crowd of the season. Move ont...

You'll have to make it a bit less obvious than that. Something to work on for next April fools day.

So toughsheet!

Re: Who do we want to play next season?

At the moment I am just hoping that we can get something from our next 2 games. If we lose both it could be squeaky bum time.

I’d like to see one song, Derby and Bolton get promoted. It would be good to see Parky at the SCL next season, but until the takeover is done I can’t get too enthusiastic.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If they are supposed to be our main owners, I'd not be that encouraged ... hopefully they are acting on someone else's behalf. What doesn't encourage you about them - of the 2 money men, one at least is a billionaire and both seem to have a track record of investing smartly. Any owner coming in wil...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If the potential new owners have loaned the club say to £2m to cover costs until the end of the season could they put us into administration if Dai changes his mind and can’t afford to pay them back?
