Re: EFL Agreed Decision - an assessment

Was expecting something slightly more critical tbh. How has it come to this? And are we really (in some small part) blaming the women's team? No. It’s clear the reverse is the case. Our overspend is reduced by the amount that it costs to run the Women’s team. They are effectively neutral in this de...

Green In all serious our Graham (Mr hobnob himself) should be on there really.

It's in your, or anyone else's, power to send in a nomination ... see link above.

Dammit just missed it.

Still, this place will still be going next year.

Re: On this day

The first* national lottery draw took place. 25 million of us tuned in to watch Noel Edmonds host the draw. There were seven lucky jackpot winners each scooping around £800,000. * Strictly speaking first in modern times, there was actually one drawn in 1569 chartered by Queen Elizabeth I, and the En...

Re: New Stadium

I live in Tilehurst and if I drive then I can leave the house at 2pm and still get a pint in at the Jazz cafe. If traffic levels are ok after the game i'll be home by 5:45. If I were to catch two buses then i'd probably have to add 1.5-2 hours to be journey and double the cost. Precisely. Put the s...

Re: New Stadium

Christ the traffic is bad enough trying to get 16k into the out of town Madejski. It would be carnage trying to get 23k into a town centre stadium for a Saturday 3 or 5pm kick off. We've only had the stadium 20 years. And who cares if a few away plebs think it's soulless and hard to get to. Iirc it...

Re: New Stadium

The location is shit but I think you're kidding yourselves if you think a move a mile up the road will really make any difference to the overall matchday experience - even if such a plot of land were ever to come up and the council grant planning on it. Have a look at a club like Derby - sure it's g...

Re: Would you pay more?

I can't help but think a lot of people have had an enforced break from it and realised they haven't really missed it. The product is poor and is (/was) overpriced. The matchday experience is dire. An erstwhile nobber and I sometimes muse whether the football creates or just gets in the way of a good...

Re: Attendances

Snowflake Royal Whilst I miss the atmosphere and experience, I don't miss the 6 hours travel. So I can't see myself returning much at all for quite some time, let alone regularly.

Why don't you find a local side to watch.
