Re: Anton Ferdinand

You can never have too many centre-backs. Would do a decent job at this level probably. As long as Nigel is in favour of him coming in and he isn't on excessive money relative to the rest of the squad then it's probably a decent signing. Can anyone elaborate on this registration deadline that was mi...

Re: 2014/15 fixtures

I don't get this....you sure new years day is FA Cup weekend? As in New Year's day is a Thursday two days before the FA Cup 3rd round. Because of this there are no New Year's day games in the championship but there is in the Premier League which I was saying will make them more likely to put out th...

Re: 2014/15 fixtures

Just noticed that, although the Championship aren't playing on New Years day because of FA Cup on January 3rd, the Premier League are playing! That should ensure they all put out full strength sides in the cup! I don't get this....you sure new years day is FA Cup weekend? As in New Year's da...

Re: 2014/15 fixtures

Bournemouth and Leeds are always on Tuesdays, both home and away. Is that the police specifying that?? Wouldn't have thought so. Surely if they suspect crowd trouble it would be easier to manage it on a Saturday with an early kick off? I know, last season at least, they tried to put the longer away...

Re: Buyout

right so now that we have a name, how much is he actually worth? i couldnt find anything on the internet. getreading said he is paying 35m for 90% while other sources say he is wiping out the debt and paying 5m...hopefully we will get the truth soon as i would personally rather have the debt paid o...

Re: Buyout

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insee_Police_United_F.C.

The wiki page of Police United sounds like it has been dragged backwards through google translate but, interestingly there is absolutely no mention of our Samrit. Obvs it's wiki so not reliable but still strange.

Re: Buyout

This will be controversial, but look what the Qatari's and Emirates have done for Man City. To compete we have to evolve. We can't just be plucky little 70's Reading kicking around the lower divisions and be happy to be wherever we are. I don't want the soul (whatever that is) to be ripped out of t...

Re: Buyout

JIM surely rebranding must have been one of the discussed items in the contract for sale.

If Vibrac and/or BGT were negotiating it then perhaps not.

Re: Buyout

Obviously relieved if we have a knew owner who can invest money into the club BUT I would be extremely worried of it really is this guy who is an owner of Red Bull. New York MetroStars, SV Austria Salzburg and SSV Markranstädt were all bought by Red Bull and then re-branded as New York Red Bulls, R...

Re: 2014/15 fixtures

Also, looking at the FIFA calendar (http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/calendar/events.html), there doesn't seem to be any Wednesdays scheduled for a round of international friendlies :D but there are four international weekends (November and March rather than November or March) which means there will b...

Re: 2014/15 fixtures

Being at Uni in Birmingham though I just pray that Birmingham, Wolves, Derby and Forest away are all during term time and Derby and Forest are on Saturday afternoons. Was cheesed off this season that Leicester away was Boxing Day, Derby away was the week before I came up and Forest away was a Friday...

Re: 2014/15 fixtures

Think it would be quite nice to start away seeing as we've seldom done that in the recent past. However due to the fact that we have to be away on the 23rd (Match day 4) due to the festival it seems likely we'll start at home. http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/201415-fixture-dates-1564566.aspx...

Re: Buyout

Well having watched that David Beckham programme last night - he was saying he'd still like to play and he might consider buying a club. So, I'm clinging to the hope that DB is part of this Phoenix consortium - cos he's going to rise like a phoenix out of retirement and save us all. Or something. F...
