Re: BFS - Bristol City (H)

Not sure if someone has already mentioned this but the City Fans Forum preceded their discussions on the game with a 'summary' of their opponents. I have never seen such a comprehensive essay on our team by an opposition website before!! If you haven't done so yet, take a look at - https://www.otib....

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Sutekh All FL games postponed, currently until weekend 3/4 April.
Stoke, Derby and Brentford games now to be rearranged.

I had planned to give the Stoke game a miss anyway. It wasn't the fear of catching the virus in the stadium itself but I was wary of travelling on the crowded football bus!

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Anyone going to the cinema anymore? Yes! With thanks to the meerkats! Numbers are very much reduced so it's easy to avoid close contact with individuals. Plenty of room in the screens themselves so you can sit where you like away from others and, dare I say it, in the premium seats! My wife and I w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by mid table obscurity

Great stuff! In the Premier league of 20 teams, 40 points is generally reckoned to be safe from relegation. So, in the Championship of 24 teams, 48 points should be safe. We have 48 points!!

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

And I reckon I could cross the ball with my left foot to a reasonable standard. Certainly wouldn't keep coming back on to my right foot as most modern players do. Drives me nuts because if I could do it why can't these guys, who are, after all, doing nothing else but play and practise football? May...

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

A very enjoyable game apart from the first 2 minutes! Swift was my MOTM but Meite had a great game too. I was also impressed with Olise who showed great promise, Yiadom and Rhino. McCleary did well when he came on. We got some nice comments from United's fans forum. They couldn't understand how we c...

Re: Jimmy Wheeler RIP

Great servant to the club. There was always a 'buzz' when Jimmy Wee got on the ball. We felt he could make something good happen! He went on to manage Bradford City IIRC and got them promotion in his first year with them. He was a hero with City then! He (and Maurice Evans) were the cornerstones of ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (a) sponsored by Simon Church

It doesn't work like that. We will be playing hard because there is a chance to reach the play-offs. But so will all the sides above and around us (from Hull upwards?). The other teams will be fighting like tigers (I don't mean Hull!) to avoid relegation (including Hull). The teams we want to play a...

Re: BFTG Cardiff Home

Yes - amazing how we individually see the game so differently! I was very impressed with Howe - Cardiff's wide man got nothing out of him at all. I agree Loader is frustrating but I think he will come good. He has some nice skills but, at the moment, is too easily muscled off the ball. Aluko played ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (a) sponsored by Eamon Dunphy

Sutekh Talk about getting a battering. Non stop pressure and just cannot get the ball out. Desperate for a Joao type striker to hold the ball up.

But according to the stats we have had more possession than they have?!

Re: BFTG Fulham

Great result and fully deserved. I sat with my Fulham-supporting-mate amongst the home fans but lost it completely when we scored our first, much to the annoyance of an old (ie about 10 years younger than me!) fart in the row behind me!! Most of the Fulham fans around me were decent enough though an...

 Anyone agree with Mr Kempson’s opinion? https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/sport-opinion/arrogance-reading-fc-players-almost-17464853 Personally I didn’t see it as that myself, although there were a couple of moments of “unnecessaryness”, but then Reading are so rarely ever in a commanding ...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

Without our two main playmakers, Ejaria and Swift, (and without Obita and Barrett) this was always going to be a struggle. So we struggled and, deservedly, lost. So who was to blame? Pele? MotM according to some; anonymous according to others. Yiadom? MotM according to Gooding; dreadful according to...

Re: BFTT Leeds

Well, I enjoyed the game immensely. Leeds are a good team and we matched them for most of the match although the result was probably a fair one. Gunter played well; Meite worked his socks off as usual; Ejaria was man of the match for me; Puscas was virtually anonymous; Swift played well but his set ...

Re: BFTG - Luton

John Madejski's Wallet How on earth are Fulham the 6th highest scorers? They were like a Jaap Stam team at its absolute worst

I'm guessing their 4 goals against us helped a little!
