Re: Cardiff (A) match thread sponsored by Sean Morrison and Andy Legg

Really pleased with this result. We have three Welshmen, all from Cardiff, at work. They have been insufferable since the Euros, so it will be nice to give them a bit back on Tuesday

Re: Matchwatch : francise fc (h) sponsored by concrete cows

Crux Load of rfc fans leaving not realising there is extra time.

The knowledge in some of our fans is laughable

Maybe they're leaving to make sure they catch their last bus/train home? Just a thought.

Re: Buy big or play the youth

Is Stam going to join a club such as ours, with a track record for being very impatient, take a gamble on youth players and risk getting sacked in 6 months? Don't think so.

Excellent post. I must admit I share your concerns, especially with regards to the development of the car park.

Re: New manager odds

Moyes would be ace. Stam: I just don't get the excitement on here. If you didn't know his name, you all would be wondering what the fcuk our owners were doing bringing in a manager of zero experience or success. Everyone has t start somewhere but do we really want to be a stepping stone for an untr...

Re: Owners/board signing players - has it EVER worked?

Of course for a big, well run club with sh*tloads of money there's no reason at all why it wouldn't work. Most top players will be falling over themselves for the chance to play for the top teams, earning pots of cash in the process. That said it's doesn't always work and hasn't done Liverpool much ...

Re: What have you done to express your feelings about the way the club is being run?

I have supported RFC for almost 50 years now and believe me I have witnessed far worse seasons than last year but I had already decided not to renew my season ticket long before the end of the season. This was for a number of reasons, one was I missed a large number of games last season due to work ...

Re: The "who do you want next as manager "poll

First off, I never agreed with re-appointing Brian. Going back has very rarely proved to be a good thing. But as he was appointed they should have given him some time to try and sort out the mess. The way he has been treated by the club is nothing short of disgraceful. Reading Football Club is rapid...

Re: 2005/2006 worst game of the season?

Seem to recall the 1-0 home win (late Ingimarasson "just about over the line" effort) over Crewe being pretty awful especially as it arrived in mid-September when we probably weren't quite sure yet whether we we were actually quite useful or just flattering to deceive. That's the one that...

Re: BFTG - WBA

Superb team performance. Great comeback. Al Habsi - didn't have a chance for their goal. Did well with what he had to deal with including a couple of saves after ref had blown for infringements. Although the 1st half header had me worried for a sec. Great celebration for our 3rd. 8 Gunter - solid, ...

RoyalX It amazes me that people have such strong opinions on Chris Gunter, as I've always thought of him as a complete non-entity - the footballing equivalent of beige or a Rich Tea.

Re: Are to unhappy Steve Clark is staying?

So he's staying because he wasn't allowed to completely balls things up for us by taking all his staff as well? That was the thing that made him decide to stay? Put it like that, yeah, great bloke, chuffed, really showing his commitment... All he has to do is much better than he has been doing and ...

Re: Reading's best ever left-back?

For the level they played at many of the players mentioned did a great job for Reading : Butler, White, Richardson Kerr, Armstrong and even on occasions Michael Gilkes. However, Nicky Shorey performed consistently well for Reading at the top level in our best ever team and played twice for England. ...

Niko
Ian Royal Hard to judge whether that's a 4-4-2, 4-4-3 or 4-5-1 really.

Probably not a 4-4-3, can't see Al Habsi being great outfield.

Probably better outfield than he is in goal!

Re: MK Dons - I'm looking forward to seeing

So before MK Dons were established who did they go and watch? Were they just armchair A*rsenal and Chelsea nobbers that have decided to go and watch that shower full time? It seems strange how they were 'recruited' and unfortunately Twitter wasn't around back then to divulge into the nitty gritty w...

Re: Ali Al Habsi - Training at RFC

Federici is a much better keeper than this clown. Several years ago my kids and I nicknamed him Al-Dropsi. It used to be quite funny watching him make mistake after mistake on MOTD. Probably won't be quite so funny when he's the keeper in our team however :(. I think all the Fed's haters on this for...

Good Luck with this mate. I was involved with a local youth football club a few years back. RFC donated a signed shirt for a fund raising auction we had about seven years ago. we didn't have any bids for it and as far a I know it's still in the treasurer's garage

Not a striker?? I always thought he was a striker. Played most of his games alongside Robin Friday from what I can remember.
