Re: England - the future....

Thing is, given the general negative reaction to us losing a football match by a single goal to Brazil, it's hard to imagine that had Southgate played a few more inexperienced players and we'd been thrashed 5-0, he'd have been criticised for that, too. Fwiw, having seen some of the 'highlights pack...

Re: England - the future....

Agreed on Sterling. He is also a very direct player, moves quickly with the ball, something we don't have a lot of - although Foden is doing this more and more. That said - I guess the likes of Bowen and Gordon are in the squad for exactly this. As an aside - it's remarkable how quickly the 'Southga...

Re: Euro 2024

So if we get out of the group we play the third-placed team from group D, E or F. There is a formula based on which combination of third-placed teams make it through to R16. In the QFs we would play the runner-up from either group A or B - means we are likely to face Italy or Spain, assuming Hungary...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

It's an homage to our 1966 training kits. Anyone who finds this genuinely annoying/offensive/troubling should be locked in a small cupboard, forever. Dear me. Of all the 'rows' this 'kit row' is one of the most pathetic I think I've ever read about. Guess some England fans are proud of the country ...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

It doesn't bother me but I think it is a dumb thing to do in general. Just leave the flag as it is, don't invite negative attention or uproar. It doesn't invite those things at all, in normal people. It stirs up hatred in homophobes, racists, mysoginists (see Joey Barton's post on the matter) - tha...

Notts County are threatening to enter the record books this season. They are 13th in League Two and have conceded 72 goals so far (the worst in the division), and yet still have a positive goal difference, having scored 75 (behind only leaders Mansfield). In football league history, only eight team...

Tomorrow night. San Marino Vs St Kitts & Nevis. Could the 20 year wait for a win finally come to an end?! Any chance SKY or someone showing it live  Viaplay have it in the UK Their captain has played for them 91 times and never won a game. San Marino ranked 210th, which is bottom, in FIFA ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Segunda Division still very tight. Elche were mid-table a few weeks ago, but are now 2nd after four wins in a row. They are only six points clear of Real Racing Club, in 10th. Como have never really made positive football headlines. In 2000, their captain Massimiliano Ferrigno put an opposition play...

Re: England - the future....

I'm as big a fan of Southgate as anyone, but I really am beginning to think that Jordan Henderson has pictures of the boss naked with a farm animal, or something. Good to see Branthwaite in the squad, but Harvey Elliott can feel harshly overlooked. Mainoo arguably too, given how many injuries we have.

Re: Weekend Football

Oh, Luton Town, what have you done? 3-0 up at half-time at Bournemouth, the Cherries now lead 4-3 in injury time. Hold on and they'll become just the fifth team in the PL era, and first in 20 years, to win from 3-0 down.
