Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

My tuppence worth! I think that the Americans (as in Wrexham) are attempting to draw locals back to the game, Wrexham has good transport links to both Liverpool and Manchester. How often can they get tickets to see the big clubs and the cost associated with this, invest in a small club with big amb...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Issue is accuracy. Reading 10 shots but only 3 on target while Lincoln have managed 3 on target from just 4 shots. I'd say the issue is more that we really struggle to score from open play unless someone lashes it in from 20 yards. Our ability to get into a great position, then blow it because we c...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Arguably we'd chosen to breach it before we signed it and certainly by the end of the summer transfer window. But surely until it was actually breached there wasn’t an issue ? I know there are some offences in which you can be accused of planning to do something or conspiracy but I don’t think this...

I'd take anything Darragh McAnthony says with a inch of salt, the bloke's full of shit. ^^ This...... ^^ I would imagine that if he had foot to stand on legally he would have called us out during that interview. He seems to think he had a legal case because the suspended part of the 12 point penalt...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

So, after the club is finally sold, really looking forward to the 13 yr old trolls on tw@tter going into meLOLtdown over the lack of spending. I have never used Twitter, but surely you can chose to ignore them ? Seems a bit like complaining about listening in to a conversation between people at the...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

That's why you have clear regulations and measures in place, to make it as much as possible an objective analysis and not a subjective conclusion. Presumably, their remit fairly conservative - rather than judging whether prospective buyers are suitable, they evaluate whether there are any causes to...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

And obviously, they may not get EFL approval or it may not even be the group we think it is. Can you imagine being at the EFL and having doubts about this group (and the ability to block the sale). Would they block a group for being unsuitable, or is being "not as bad as Dai" the yardstick?

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

One big reason we don't have a sensible financial model in this country is that it's fundamentally bloody hard. You don't want to discourage ambitious owners from investing and fans from dreaming of punching above their weight, you don't want a system that entrenches the dominance of those fortunat...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If it was the Wilf brothers then we could have won the owners jackpot. They’ve been transformational for the Vikings, who now have the best facilities, infrastructure and stadium in the NFL. Not going to get excited though until something confirmed. Would love to see football run more like the NFL....

The Cap
Plenty of publicity on Sky about tomorrow night. Seems like Jeff Stelling's kick up their proverbial backsides has worked wonders.

Will Richard Keys be telling people he's ignoring the story again?

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

As short term as it may be, I think we are mostly all on the same page - if whatever group comes in passes the low bar tests and then just keeps us ticking over and invests, wisely, in the team/club then fine. The alternative doesn't really bare thinking about. If you speak to Wigan fans, Al Hammad...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I 5hink we all know by know how this will almost certainly play out now. You just have to hope his rational self interest wins the day in the end. He gets nothing from the club if he doesn't sell. He's tried asset stripping and selling the training ground and it has failed. As difficult as he seems...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

The current stadium is in dire state of repair; leaking roofs, rust, brick work crumbling, drab concrete interior, etc; thus is going to require a good level of investment. Brentford managed to build their new stadium, in central London, for £70 mil, so think £50mil should be an achievable target i...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Is there not a football pitch in the middle already? I'm sure I played a match there in the early 90s. Long time since I've been but is the cycle track round the outside still there and does it have a bit of banking, that would be more of an issue for putting some temporary stands in. Don’t think t...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

The planning condition isn't the barrier people think it is, but it obviously adds a lot more risk for a purchaser who is trying to do something that is likely to attract significant local and political opposition (plus an inevitable 1-2 years worth of delays through the planning/appeal/possibly ca...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Several posts on twitter, mostly seeing one and copying it, saying it`s a done deal, I paid particular interest to the directors box today and Mark Bowen was a lonely figure sitting in the front row on his own. Now if we were on the verge of an imminent takeover to would expect some of them to be h...

You'd hope so. It would be nice to have something on their channel beyond clips you can probably see for free on youtube.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Some are talking about Bearwood and the Academy being too expensive in L1 but I disagree. Surely the Academy can be a very profitable entity if you have owners with money. If it’s profitable why would you need owners with money to keep it afloat It's profitable if you actually sell the players it p...
