Re: BFTG - Wednesday (H)

Bumped into Danny Williams after the game. He said the Wednesday centre-half got a tiny touch on the Kermorgant 'sitter' as it came over. That's why he missed.

"We will fight til the end, they call us the Royals..." I don't know about you guys, but that sums me up perfectly!

Re: BFTG Brentford

The Sa song was coming through loud on the radio. Sounded brilliant. We sounded like a proper group of fans. Well done all that went. Well done the team and we'll done Clarke. Our game management didn't sound great second half however this will come with more wins and confidence. Two home games to ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Pog gone to Dynamo Moscow

I haven't wanted to mention this before, in case it jinxed things, but 'pogreb' means 'funeral' in Russian, so Pogrebnyak translates as something like 'son of an undertaker'. So how come he didn't bury a few more chances?

Awkward moment straight after the big clap for Eamonn Dolan when the Upper East began singing 'I'm Reading till I die...'

At least they stopped quickly!

Re: new big screen

Good idea to have a new screen. Hopefully that will mean bigger subtitles too! I was looking forward to singing along with Sasima's new song, but couldn't read the words. They were too small! Bigger screen, bigger words. It all makes sense.

Re: RUMOUR - Alex Fernandez

linkenholtroyal looking on Wikipedia (which is famous last words) he was seen as a prospect by Mourinho when he was at Madrid. This may well be Clarkes old friend giving him a pointer

Wish I could remember anything he did on Saturday. Complete blank. Can't picture him at all.

Re: Bradford Pitch invasion fine?

Heard this is the reason we are unable to sign beric. Hope you're all proud of yourselves Don't be so sanctimonious. Yes, the pitch invasion was stupid. But it was triggered by joy, and hardly dangerous. It doesn't deserve that level of fine or any ridiculous emotional blackmail about Beric. Why dr...

Re: Team For Birmingham (a)

Bond Gunter Hector Ferdinand Obita Norwood Quinn Tshibola Williams Sa Blackman The midfield in a diamond with Norwood holding Yup. That's probably right. Though I can see McShane playing instead of Hector. It would be a very Steve Clarke thing to do. Why else the weird armband swap against Espanyol?

Re: Sweet Caroline - Blakey!

I'm a Believer would definitely be a great choice, but Wigan have already nabbed it. Amazing that Neil Diamond should have written both songs. Sweet Caroline is slightly naffer, true, but it does have a rousing chorus that's fun to belt out. The only downside is that my first wife was called Carolin...

SHOULD WE MOVE THE AWAY END?

:D Hearing Federici being taunted by the home fans behind the goal at the Ipswich game for being pink, made me think again about where fans should be seated in grounds, particularly away fans. Obviously, Feds is used to being Oxforded by the home fans sitting behind him. He can take it, and all that...

Re: BFTG Charlton

Something about their goal which no one seems to have mentioned is that there was a small deflection on the cross as it came over, pushing it past Pearce, and making it easier for Ventokele, who found the ball deflected invitingly in front of him. I could see the line of flight directly from where i...

Re: BFTG Charlton

It was a tale of two central defences. Theirs worked, ours didn't. Yes Gunter should have stopped the cross, but we had '35 crosses' in the game, apparently, and didn't score. They had 2 or 3. And did score. For me, Pearce is much better on the right of defence than on the left. That is why he worke...

Met this guy on the train back from Middlesbrough. Son of Pairoj. He's on the board. Very influential apparently. Seemed a really nice guy.

Re: Green Hair??

Is that really appropriate for a 76 year old? Come on. Green hair has to be better than grey hair. Talking of which... you have to admire Surgeon's barnet as well. It's obviously all his own work - no transplants involved. Personally, I am rather proud that we are now owned and run by two of the be...

Re: Confimred new owners of Reading Football Club

Depends what you see as the 'SJM model'. Personally I think he wants the club to be self sufficient, be a community club, and have a prosperous academy. That's what I think we all want tbh. Hopefully this 'partnership' will mean we don't have to sell our best players every year to cover losses, if ...

Re: BFTG - Ipswich

Was there goal music today? You bet. And there I was giving it the full bounce of happiness! Come on. It's cheesy, but it works! Agree totally about Hector. I don't think we would have won that game with Morrison at centre half. He would have been exposed and outpaced. They would have scored. The m...

Re: Confimred new owners of Reading Football Club

Of course they are going to try to put up something. Philanthropy was never going to be their main reason for buying Reading. Building opportunities, proximity to Heathrow, ready made weekly audiences - those are reasons for buying. My guess is that Samrit will look after the football side of things...
